Beach 60 St-Straiton is a standard Rockaway Line elevated station. It has two side platforms on the concrete elevated viaduct. The station four entrance staircases one along the eastern corners and the other just beyond the corners of Beach 59 Street and the Rockaway Freeway just north of Rockaway Beach Blvd. Beach 60th Street ends at a T intersection at the western end of the station at Rockaway Beach Blvd. These lead up to standard Rockaway Line Station house mezzanine that leads out to pairs of staircases up to each platform at almost their western ends. This is also where the canopied and windscreen portions of the platform are, from the western end to a bit before the centers. The eastern ends of the platforms are bare with just a low-fence, although towards the other (eastern) end of the Far Rockaway-bound platform there is a small area that has canopy coverage again and a closed High Exit Turnstile (or iron maiden, so the second required token for travel to the Rockaways could be paid before 1975 when it was required) that is completely surrounded by a chain-link fence, closed off and abandoned.

Rebuilding: The station was completely rebuilt between 2009 and 2011 along with every other stop on the Rockaway el. This rebuilding included replacing the original windscreens with green and cream full-height ones beneath the platform canopies and unfortunately replacing the original low fences with modern full-height mesh windscreens towards the ends of the platform. The former closed off exit staircase at the end of the Far Rockaway-bound platform has been rebuilt although the new exit hasn't opened by 2013. To allow this rebuilding to occur Far Rockaway-bound trains skipped the station from February 22, 2010 to June 28, 2010 and Manhattan-bound trains skipped from February 14, 2011 to June 6, 2011.
