Web-host discussions: The good and the bad
Not-recommended web hosts: HOSTONY (Lots of features, but they often don't work, the tech support is crap, and they have sometimes broken things by making stupid changes on their servers. Also, 1and1 host is not recommended.

Recommended Tools of the Trade
This is a collection of software that has proved useful to me either directly or indirectly with web development. Wherever possible I'll provide open source alternatives to commercial products. If you know of a program that's better than the one on the list, feel free to let me (valera) know about it so that I may put it up here.
