ABSTRACT This article attempts to compile a list of recent tungsten inert gas welding advancement... more ABSTRACT This article attempts to compile a list of recent tungsten inert gas welding advancements (TIG). TIG welding only allows for a few millimeters of penetration depth. This limitation of TIG welding can be overcome by a new advanced TIG technique called activated tungsten inert gas welding (ATIG). This new approach of TIG welding allows up to 8 cm to 12 cm of penetration depth. The demand for activated tungsten inert gas welding (ATIG) has risen in the past few years, and it has been rooted as a viable alternative to subtractive manufacturing. According to research, ATIG weldments have mechanical qualities that are comparable to other more expensive welding techniques. ATIG offers significant cost savings and a higher production rate when compared to other welding techniques. ATIG, on the other hand, has a number of drawbacks, including high residual slag, poor mechanical properties, and low corrosion resistance. As a result, more research is needed into ATIG weld parameter optimization, ATIG process simulation, and post-weld heat treatment to address the aforementioned issues. In light of the foregoing, the focus of this study will be on ATIG welded sample experimental research, modeling, optimization, and corrosion behavior. Furthermore, the study will consider the significant difficulties associated with metallurgical properties, such as detrimental secondary phase formation, carbon migration, hot cracking, weld distortion, and residual stresses that must be removed or reduced for the weld to be qualified.

Road marking machines are widely used for marking purpose essential for road safety and traffic control. Various types of road marking devices as fully automatic road marking machine, semi-automatic road marking machine, manual road marking machine, etc. are available in the market. Automation in road marking has evolved and developed with time but mostly in India, manual applicator road marking machine has a great impact in road marking operations due to its size, ease and lower cost. Various types of materials such as thermoplastic, traffic paints, epoxy, etc. are used as marking materials by calculating desirable properties. Horizontal, vertical and straight line marking is possible by manual applicator road marking machine.

It consist of static structural and fatigue analysis of single cylinder engine crank shaft. It identifies and solves the problem by using the modeling and simulation techniques. The topic was chosen because of increasing interest in higher payloads, lower weight, higher efficiency and shorter load cycles in crankshaft. The main work was to model the crank shaft with dimensions and then simulate the crank shaft for static structural and fatigue analysis. The modeling software used is PRO-E wildfire 4.0 for modeling the crank shaft. The analysis software ANSYS will be used for structural and fatigue analysis of crank shaft for future work. The material for crank shaft is EN9 and other alternate materials on which analysis will be done are SAE 1045, SAE 1137, SAE 3140, and Nickel Cast Iron. Hence, there is requirement<br>of optimizing the appropriate gating/risering system. In this paper, the actual gating/risering system is simulated to minimize the<br>warpage defect occurring in the industry while manufacturing. Hence, the simulation for optimizing better gating/risering system<br>is done by using AutoCAST-X software which is based on Vector Gradient Method (VGM) for defect minimization.

The action plan contains various tools such as Line of Balance Graph (LOB), Critical Ratio Scheduling (CRS), symbols and bar graphs that will help the company in understanding the plan in better way. Further, it shows through inspection and audit that proper implementation of 5-s can lead to increase in productivity by 97 percent. Distortion can be defined as deviation from the natural, normal, or original contour, shape or size due to application or removal of forces [1]. Distortion can be reduced but never be completely eliminated. It aims at reducing the bend occurring in the washers due to addition of external forces at time of punching operation. Many bearings contains washer as a major component which is required to have very less distortion. Distortion in washer can prove very fatal for the life and working of bearing. Usually thrust bearings are made up of the washers containing needles and virol as main elements. The properties of biodiesel are found similar to that of diesel. Many researchers have experimentally evaluated the performance characteristics of conventional diesel engines fuelled by biodiesel and its blends. However, experiments require enormous effort, money and time. Hence, a cycle simulation model incorporating a thermodynamic based single zone combustion model is developed to predict the performance of diesel engine. The air pollution exceedance status of an urban area has been studied for three different locatio... more The air pollution exceedance status of an urban area has been studied for three different location for six different air pollutants such as Sulphur dioxide (SO 2), Oxides of nitrogen (NOx), by Wet chemical method (West & Gaeke Method & Jacob & Hochheiser Method), Heavy Metal (Pb) by ICP-OES (Perkin Elmer), and PAHs [benzo(a)anthracene] & Fluoranthene by using GC (Perkin Elmer), and Particulate Matter (SPM, PM 10 ,) by Federal Reference Method (Rupprecht & Patashnick Co.In) for one annual cyclic season along with meteorological data (wind speed and direction). Seasonally variation of air pollution parameters with respect to month throughout one year was studies and it has been observed that a suitable control over few pollutants is needed in all the land uses. The air purification system is hence evaluated for varying land uses. These results can be effectively used as tool for designing of air purification system.

The Kanban system involves the selection of two important parameters i.e. the lot size and the numbers of Kanban used in the process. The main objective of Kanban system is to maximize the productivity of a unit and this is done by reducing the idle time of the process. Kanban system is a very cost efficient process if applied in proper manner.
