Notes: I am a tad rusty to be sure but I don't think it turned out too badly! It was supposed to be written as a drabble for btvsats_love but I kind of went over the limit!

As a child Dawn had always loved the story of sleeping beauty; a beautiful princess under an evil spell only true love’s kiss could break she thought it was so romantic. One day while she was out shopping with Willow, she came across an old spinning wheel she giggled remembering the fairy tale.

“Hey Willow, wouldn’t it be funny if I…Ouch!” she pricked her finger and blinked the world suddenly out of focus “I don’t feel so good”

Willow rushed to her side and tried to revive her but it was no use. Thinking the cause was something magical she brought the spinning wheel taking it home to learn what she could about its apparent spell.

Buffy sat by her sister’s bedside, praying for the girl to wake up. Willow walked into the room a grave look on her face Buffy looked up “That’s not a happy look”

“It’s just like the story Buffy, either she gets a kiss from her true love or she stays asleep”

Buffy looked down at her sister “She’s too young to have a true love”

“Any boys she’s been talking about?” Buffy shook her head.

“Well we have to try something”

Buffy nodded “Get Xander in here” Willow raised an eyebrow Buffy shrugged “Well she used to have a thing for him”

Willow nodded going downstairs to fetch him.

Xander entered the room his eyes on the sleeping girl “I don’t know about this Buffy, she’s like a sister to me”

“Well she is my sister, so pucker up”

Xander shrugged and leaned down to kiss her gently….nothing happened. He looked up at Buffy and shrugged “Sorry Buff”

Buffy looked at Willow “What do we do?”

“Maybe Angel could help?” Willow suggested brightly.

“Oh no, he’s not kissing her!” Buffy retorted.

“I meant he has a whole big building full of magical stuff, something there is bound to break the spell”

Though Buffy didn’t like the idea she agreed and the group went to seek Angel’s help.

When they arrived they put Dawn in a room upstairs and asked Wesley to watch over her while they went down to look through the archives.

They looked and looked and looked.

“My sister is going to be asleep for a hundred years” Buffy sighed Willow tried to comfort her “She’s not in any pain”

“Will!” she shook her head and downtrodden she went back up to see Dawn. Wesley was asleep in the chair next to her, holding her hand tightly. Dawn and Wesley had always been close friends she cared about him a great deal.

‘I wonder…’ Buffy walked over and touched Wesley on the shoulder he jumped and looked up at her.

“Oh Buffy, I must have dozed off…” he let go of Dawn’s hand “Find anything?”

Buffy shook her head “You really care about her don’t you?”

Wesley gave a small smile “Why yes of course”

Buffy sucked her lips “I’m out of ideas, at this point I’ll try anything”

“Buffy?” Wesley gave her a confused look.

“Kiss her”

Wesley shrugged “As you wish” he leaned down and kissed Dawn softly on the lips.
“Mmm…” Dawn moaned softly stirring from her slumber thinking it was a dream she kissed Wesley back much to his surprise.

Buffy stood watching wide eyed no Wes couldn’t possibly be her true love…

Dawn opened her eyes and sucked her lips looking up at the slightly dazed Wes “Wow, you’ve usually disappeared by now”

Wesley coughed “I assure you, I am quite real”

“You are?” she swallowed “Oh god you are! Wes I can explain!”

“They will be time for explanations later” Buffy interrupted.

Dawn nodded and looked at Wesley swallowing “Uh...”
“I’ll be looking forward to that explanation” He smiled “Perhaps we could discuss it over dinner?”

Dawn bit her lip “Really?”

Wes nodded kissing her nose.

“Hello, I’m standing right here!” Buffy interjected.

Wesley nodded “I’ll leave you two alone” he winked at Dawn before leaving the room. Dawn fell back against her pillows giggling Buffy gave her a skeptical look

Dawn looked over “What?”

“If I didn’t know any better, I would think you planned that”

“Planned? Buffy please what do you take me for?” she sat up and “I could never have masterminded it to go that perfectly”

Buffy hit her lightly and hugged her “You really had me worried”

Dawn hugged her sister back “I’m sorry”

Buffy smiled “So…Wesley?”

Dawn looked at her sister and nodded “Are you completely freaked out?”

Buffy shook her head “No” she smiled “At least it wasn’t Spike”
