This study suggests that while Peter writes within a socio-political background, he uses an exodus-new exodus framework. The author manifests this new exodus paradigm by inserting throughout the letter quotations and allusions to the OT that reference the exodus narrative and/or its redemptive-historical and escha-tological interpretations of the prophets (especially Isaiah and the Psalms). Most of these allusions are in important programmatic passages of 1 Peter, thus constantly affirming the proposed framework. The goal of the GlossaHouse Thesis Series is to facilitate the publication of outstanding theses that advance research in the areas of ancient and modern texts and languages.

However, this does not explain the many cases in which different temporal contexts use the same tense form, even with prepositions often assumed to function in specific time relations. This study applies verbal aspect theory for such constructions and demonstrates how the aspectual approach becomes important in exegesis. Moreover, deictic markers help us determine the time reference of infinitive verbs within prepositional phrases and not the construction itself.

This verse has been dismissed by some who consider Rom 4:25 to be mere rhetoric with no real theological significance. Others see that Rom 4:25 speaks against the traditional disregard of Jesus’s resurrection in Pauline soteriology, which needs to be corrected and reestablishes resurrection to its proper theological place.
Although there are good contextual and exegetical arguments in the existing proposals, this paper argues that a proper understanding of Paul’s teaching regarding resurrection in Romans and the influence of Isaiah 53 on Rom 4:25 helps us understand the theological connection Paul makes between resurrection and justification.

These purposes limit the letter’s themes to those relevant to its circumstances, which we may call historically driven purposes. As Karl Donfried writes, “any study of Romans should proceed on the initial assumption that this letter was written by Paul to deal with a concrete situation in Rome. The support for such an assumption is the fact that every other authentic Pauline writing, without exception, is addressed to the specific situations of the churches or persons involved.”1 Moreover, as an epistle, the introduction and conclusion or ending of Romans have significant weight on the theological program of the letter appropriate to its historical circumstances.
Therefore, establishing the concepts and motifs presented in the letter closing, especially the concluding doxology, will help us determine Paul’s theological program for the letter. Therefore, this paper has a two-fold aim: we need to determine the integrity and theological motifs of the Romans’ doxology. I’ll end by proposing how Paul’s theology expressed in the doxology is influenced by Isaianic motifs.
