Ramona glances quickly at the man as she finishes scanning the file. Finished, she closes the think manila folder with a slap and slides it to the man. The hint of a smirk dances across her lips as she meets his stare.

Confused, the man stares at the file. “What is this?”

“It’s you, Mr. Berrington. It’s every last scrap of information the people I work for have on you. They’ve…had their eyes on you for a while, but you can’t really blame them.” With her index finger, Ramona pulls her reading glasses to the end of her nose. “It’s not every day you come across an immortal.”

Visibly nervous, the man reaches for the file. He quickly turns his attention to Ramona, watching her for any sudden moves. After a few seconds with his left hand hovering in the air, he grabs the file and opens it in front of him. He begins scanning it immediately, quickly flipping through the many pages.

Ramona carefully removes her reading glasses, folding the stems and placing them on the table. Rolling her shoulders back, she leans back slightly in the diner booth in self-satisfaction. With the man still reading his file, Ramona turns her attention to Rob as he returns to the table with her slice of pie. He places the saucer on the table and hands Ramona a fork. Taking it from his hand, her fingers gently make contact. She mouths “thank you” with flair of tongue and red lips and gives him a big wink. Still grinning like and idiot, Rob stumbles off to another table to check on his patrons. Ramona watches Rob, waiting for him to disappear before turning her attention back to the man sitting across from her.
