Amis of this study is to investigate HIV infection in pregnancy within England and to find out which ethnic group has the highest rate of mother to child transitions incidence of HIV.
My hypothesis is Caucasian have higher HIV positive and higher rate of mother to child transmission (MTCT) of HIV in England compare to other ethnic groups within England.
This study will investigate HIV infection in pregnancy in women with different ethnic group in England.

Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV) is a virus consisted of genetic material and protein lipid membranes.

HIV Virus binds to human T-cells and starts the process of replication. Untreated HIV positive person with Antiretroviral drugs lead to Acquired Immunodeficiency Syndrome (AIDS).
HIV has two type HIV-1 and Hiv-2. HIV-1 contain four group M,N,O and P. M group of HIV-1 have 10 subgroup, A, B, C, D, F, G, H, J, K and CRFs (Nóbrega et al., 2013).
HIV or AIDS is an evolved virus which is threatens the humanity mainly in developing countries. HIV infects and destroys T cells one of the important components of the immune system, then which it lead to deficiency in T cells and ultimately leading to AIDS and death. Currently best approach is the Highly Active Antiretroviral Therapy (HAART), However HAART lead to drug resistant and long term toxicity and large number of people could not afford the costs for HAART drugs so cheaper drugs or affordable cure is needed (Daniyal et al., 2016).
Prenatal transmission of HIV can be reduced by antiretroviral therapy (ART) with combination of appropriate management of delivery and avoidance of breastfeeding. Antiretroviral therapy (ART) Can be used for HIV positive patients, in order to reduce the number of HIV virus and to maintain the number of CD4 T-cells for Long and healthy life (Townsend et al., 2010), (Westling et al., 2012).
