Hueman and Modula incompatibility (original) (raw)
- Since a few days Modula galleries don’t work correctly with Hueman theme.
More in detail: thumbnails are shown only to registered users (no matter on role).
This happens both with newly created galleries and with old ones. It happens even without any personalisation on Hueman.
Changing theme from Heuman to other (e.g. SideNews) all is working correctly.

- I’ll look into this when our dev team is back at work starting with the 8th of January.
Have you contacted the team at Hueman about this issue? Have there been any updates to Hueman lately?
Hello @pamaff,
We investigated this and found that Modula’s JavaScript files are not being loaded at all for guest users. Because of this, the galleries cannot initialize and only the thumbnails/CSS remain visible.
This is not caused by a JavaScript error, but by the scripts being removed before the page is sent to the browser. This usually happens because of caching, JavaScript optimization/bundling, or plugins that dequeue scripts for non-logged-in visitors.
To help us identify the cause, could you please check the following:- Cloudflare
- Purge the Cloudflare cache.
- Check if there are any Cloudflare settings or rules enabled that could affect or delay JavaScript loading for visitors.
- Caching / optimization plugins
- Are you using any caching or optimization plugins (for example: Autoptimize, WP Rocket, LiteSpeed, WP-Optimize, Perfmatters, Asset CleanUp, etc.)?
- If yes, please tell us which ones.
- Quick test
- If possible, temporarily disable any caching/optimization plugins and check if the Modula scripts start loading for guest users.
This would quickly confirm if one of them is responsible.
- If possible, temporarily disable any caching/optimization plugins and check if the Modula scripts start loading for guest users.
- Recent changes
- Since Modula has not had any recent updates, please let us know if there were any recent server, CDN, or plugin changes in the last few days.
- Cloudflare
This information will help us determine what is removing the Modula scripts from the page.

Thanks to Teo Alex’s advice, the problem seems to be solved.
I disabled the “Aruba HiSpeed Cache” plugin (Aruba is the host provider), and Modula started to work correctly.
Even re-enabling the plugin, it still works.
It was definitely a cache issue.
Thanks so much to Teo.
