Hey Chicago! [Dec. 2nd, 2005|02:37 pm]Working In Chicago
Previous Entry Flag Next Entry [**mood** |excitedexcited]So I'm about to move in with my boyfriend in the Rogers Park area. I'm taking a break from school, and planning to live, work, take a class or two, and chill out for a semester (I'm currently a disillusioned Beloit College sophomore). Problem is, I know very few people in Chicago, and absolutely no one in my soon-to-be area. So what do people do in Rogers Park and environs (besides go somewhere else)? Where do people hang out, are there places to dance when you're not 21? What bars don't card? Are there theatres in the area? What the hell am I going to do when I'm bored at 2 in the morning? Oh, and any suggestions as to good places to work? I hate retail but will do it in a pinch. Coffee shops, restaraunts or "real" jobs are more what I'm looking for. Thanks =) Maybe meet some of you sometime soon.x-posted a bunch~Meredith

this is extrememly late so sorry!there really isnt anything that you can do in rogers park. i use to live there when i was a little girl. however i heard rogers park is getting better.since you are so far up north. you're going to have to commute to go to any places that are south from you.neighborhoods like lakeview, or wicker park, are about 30-40 minutes away from you.when it comes to bars. ive only found one bar that dont card, and then the owner found out so that changed. besides that, i have never heard of a bar that doesnt card at all.nice job on finding a job, it usually takes about 4 months to find a good one. i have to find another job soon.
