This is awesome. This guy spent 14 months traveling all over the world, dancing. I'd like to do something of this magnitude during my life. In fact, I think I will. When my husband and I start traveling, everywhere I go I'm going to take a moment to spin around in a circle for a while or something. It'll be awesome.

My favourite bit is in Gurgaon, India. xP

"This awesome picture was taken in Bitterroot National Forest in Montana on August 6, 2000.
The photographer, John McColgan, is a fire behavior analyst from Fairbanks, Alaska. He took the picture
with a digital camera. Because he was working at the time he took the picture he cannot profit from it;
however, we feel the picture is a once-in-a-lifetime shot and should be shared."

Who can have a journal about the most amazing things in the world without a few pictures of good ol' Aurora Borealis.

Ex-voto An ex-voto is a votive offering to a saint or divinity. It is given in fulfillment of a vow (hence the Latin term, short for ex voto suscepto, "from the vow made") or in gratitude or devotion. Ex-votos are placed in a church or chapel where the worshipper seeks grace or wishes to give thanks. The destinations of pilgrimages often include shrines decorated with ex-votos.

Ex-votos can take a wide variety of forms. They are not only intended for the helping figure, but also as a testimony to later visitors of the received help. As such they may include texts explaining a miracle attributed to the helper, or symbols such as a painted or modeled reproduction of a miraculously healed body part, or a directly related item such as a crutch given by a former limp person.

Welcome Welcome to the Amazing World LJ community. I created this community because, as far as I'm concerned, this is the best thing about the internet. The internet is our window to the world, but a lot of people don't use it to look very far. A lot of people just stick to email and cat macros, and while that's fine, I think the internet can be used to expose people to some very impressive things.

To start, I'd like to post this. It's called "Their Circular Life." It's kind of an interactive photo gallery. You use it to view one spot the way it was at various times over the course of a day. It's really neat. Check it out. I hope if gives you a better idea of what I'm talking about.
