On election night, November 5, 2024, the U.S. military launched an unarmed nuclear missile from Vandenberg “Space Force” Base in California to the Kwajalein Atoll in the Marshall Islands, which it long ago stole from its inhabitants and established a military apartheid state served by indigenous workers permitted only to live on a nearby island and commute to work under armed guard each day. The ongoing ICBM testing follows earlier nuclear bomb testing, the damage from which is still very much felt in a large area of the Pacific. The ICBM launched this week carried three dummy hydrogen bombs.
Protesters at Vandenberg Tuesday night, some of whom were arrested for trespassing, included:

- Sharat Lin, past president of the San Jose Peace Center,
- Leah Yananton, Los Angeles Code Pink, author of What the Air Force doesn’t want you to notice on election night,
- Lynn Hamilton, Monterey Peace and Justice Center, codefendant with Daniel Ellsberg 2/25/ 2012
- Scott Yundt, Executive Director of Tri-Valley CAREs (Communities Against a Radioactive Environment) in Livermore, Ca.
