"All The World's A Stage" (original) (raw)

May I first say this is a wonderful community, I had such fun looking over all the wonderful posts here.thedivinerpg is a brand new Role Play Game based off Dante's Inferno. We're opening this November 1st and we are looking for a cast of characters from any and all Shakespearian works to come join us for some creative, otherworldly fun. We already have one person writing for Iago from Othello and we would love if anyone here who might be interested would come and take a peek, see if you may like to apply.**( click to see our adCollapse )**[If this kind of post isn't allowed in this community I completely understand and will gladly take it down, just say the word if it's a problem. :) ]

Hi! I just joined this community. I very much love all things Shakespeare and Hamlet is my favourite play. What do you all think of Polonius?

Subject:Twelfth Night discussion Posted by:lotrvhluva. Time:1:40 pm. Mood: giddy.
Hey guys, I'm directing a production of Twelfth Night this summer, and I was wondering aimlessly, what would you guys do if you were directing this play, in the way of costuming, editing (read- shortening), music, etc.?

Which film is better? The Hamlet by Kennith, or the one starring Mel Gibson?I'm new!

The Shakespeare RPG's up, if anyone else wants to join. Lots of geekery and fun. There are several people pending, but we'd love more players. **pseudoglobe**Cross-posted to several Shakespeare communities.

This community obviously doesn't have a moderated membership policy, but it'd be really helpful for me if you post a comment, message, or email somewhere to say when you've just joined. Just so I can keep track of new members. Or maintain my ego. Whichever you prefer.

Subject:Othello Posted by:telescope13. Time:10:28 pm. Mood: contemplative.
Here's an interesting thought.I'm taking a Shakespeare course at UNB in New Brunswick and I love it to death. We just finished studying Othello, and learned about white men playing Othello after painting their skin black.Has there, and if there hasn't, why hasn't there been a version of Othello done where Othello is white and everyone else is black? I think it would be very interesting. Instead of focusing on his blackness, they would have to focus on his difference instead.Just an idea I had.

Subject:Which play is your favorite, and why? Posted by:lotrvhluva. Time:1:42 pm. Mood: calm.
Ok, so now that we actually have members, I thought I'd pose a question to the community: Which, if any, of the plays is your favorite? For me, it's Twelfth Night, with a close second from Merchant of Venice. I love Twelfth Night because I love the escapism feel of Illyria, and I love Venice because the characters are so complex and I have a love/hate emotion associated with all of them, I guess. What about yours?
