This Wuppertal Paper is intended to serve the general public as well as those businesses producin... more This Wuppertal Paper is intended to serve the general public as well as those businesses
producing goods or services that could support adaptation to climate change. It first
provides an overview of climate change and the estimated damages and costs for
adaptation. The authors then describe the impacts of climate change on sensitive sectors
of the economy and finally sketch the opportunities for business in helping to meet this
challenge. They conclude that the success in adapting existing products to the climate
challenge and to design new products appropriately will determine to a large extent the
future success of many companies in Gemany and beyond.
