Aims To describe the lifestyle of people with schizophrenia through diet, smoking habits, weight and exercise, and to report risk of coronary heart disease (CHD). Method Dietary habits of 102 community-dwelling people with schizophrenia were assessed by the Scottish Health Survey Questionnaire. Also assessed were smoking habits, physical activity biochemical indices of nutrition and future risk of CHD. Results Fewer males, compared with the general population, reached acceptable levels for consumption of fruit, vegetables, milk, potatoes and pulses. Fewer females reached the levels for consumption of milk and potatoes. Mean number of fruit and vegetable portions consumed per week was 16 (s.d.=14); 71 (70%) were smokers; 25 (86%) females and 50 (70%) males were overweight or obese; 59 (59%) considered themselves physically active; 46 (53%) had a raised cholesterol: high-den...

Prague powder was evaluated at the dose of (I don’t fucking know) at the exposure time of 24 hours in root tip cells of Allium cepa. Slides were prepared and cells were analyzed for cellular aberrations totaling (I don’t fucking know) cells for each dose evaluated. The mitotic index was calculated, and statistical analysis was performed using the Chi-squared test (p < 0.05). The obtained results indicated that the synthetic food preservative Prague powder had the ability to cause different mitotic changes varying from chromosome bridges and stickiness to formation of laggards. These changes appeared in varying degrees depending on the applied concentration and duration of treatment. The types of abnormalities produced were stickiness at metaphase, anaphase bridges, stickiness at anaphase, and telophase with laggard. Further genotoxity studies should be conducted for additional results and a proper evaluation of the effect of prague powder on a cellular level.

A dosage of 0.025mL of 1mg/mL of the test agent served as the treatment group while 9% normal saline
solution was introduced to the control group. The test agent was tested on developing chick embryos,
specifically introduced on the 5th day of incubation. Morphological and anatomical abnormalities were
checked and tallied on observation on both stages – embryological development and fully developed and
emerged chicks. The results of this study, specifically tested via scaling by degree of malformations
(qualitative) and Mann Whitney U test (quantitative) at alpha level 0.05 with U = 3 & CV = 5, proved that
the ACE inhibitor drug Telmisartan is significantly teratogenic on developing chick embryos.
