| | Hello! I'm new to this community. I live in Puget Sound, WA and have recommitted myself to Weight Watchers just recently. I'm here for the long haul - to lose 152lbs. So glad that there is support on the web like this. :-) I'm completely clueless when it comes to actually "eating right". Just when I think I'm doing something right, someone tells me I'm doing something wrong.I just opened up the latest Weight Watchers E-Newsletter and found some really helpful info. I thought I would post it for those of you who don't get the newsletter.Before a Workout: Best-Bet Food CombosLow-fat yogurt with sliced bananaSkim milk blended with frozen fruit to make a smoothieLow-fat cottage cheese with pineapple chunksSmall chicken or turkey sandwich on whole-wheat breadLow-fat string cheese and grapesNo-sugar-added applesauce or a diced apple mixed with low fat cottage cheese or ricotta cheese (try sprinkling with cinnamon)Hard-boiled eggs, yolks removed and replaced with hummusHalf a sweet potato topped with low-fat cottage cheese and sprinkled with nutmeg (or for something savory, add a spoonful of salsa)After a Workout: Replenish RepastsOne or two poached eggs on whole-wheat toastBean burrito: a whole wheat tortilla filled with black beans, salsa, and a little reduced fat-cheeseStir-fried chicken and vegetables (try pepper, zucchini, and carrot) over brown riceWhole-wheat pasta tossed with chicken, broccoli and eggplantWhole grain cereal or oatmeal, with milk and fruit (such as a sliced banana)The article also talks about maintaining proper hydration. Drink before you feel thirsty and drink at least 16 ounces of water two hours before a workout, and about 6 to 12 every 15 to 20 minutes during exercise. (An ounce is about a mouthful.)Mood:pleasedpleasedMusic:NIN I was at a scrapbooking/wedding seminar a little while ago and as a "treat" they brought out a huge wedding cake and cut big slices for everyone. I passed of course. Luckily, I'm not a big cake fan. Anyway - I mentioned I was doing weight watchers and a lady sitting across from me mentioned mixing chocolate cake mix and diet coke and then filling cupcake wrappers and sticking them in the oven...each one is two points. Also, you can do white cake mix and diet sprite/sprite zero. Just mix, no eggs or milk or any of that.Does anyone else know anything about this? I meant to ask her for more detail but things got a busy with people leaving and talking, etc.By the way - I'm new...my name is Sonia from Dallas, Texas. I am a 34 year old female in Texas. I lost 60-70 lbs a few years ago on the South Beach diet. Since October of 2006, I have slowly gained around 25 lbs back. I had tried to start phase 1 back a few times, and that is a difficult thing to do, especially with the holidays. Anyway, I started doing Weight Watchers Flexplan. I have done this before with success. I went last week and paid the meeting fee and bought the starter kit. I am going to weigh in on Wednesday mornings. So far, so good!Shelley I just discovered this community, so thought I would say Hello. I've been a Weight Watchers member now for 7 months and have managed to lose 64 pounds so far. I still have a lot more to lose and I get a lot of motivation and support from the online message boards at weightwatchers.ca. I am a huge peanut butter fanatic.Now, as we all know, PB is so high in fat and in points. I was wondering how you fellow PB-addicts get in your fix. I have tried the Better N' Peanut Butter (2 pts for 2 TBSP) and love it ... and I am currently waiting on a shipment from Bell Plantation with my PB2 order. I've been on and off the Weight Watchers program for a few years now. I've recently gotten back in the swing of things and I'm determined to reach my goals to a new and healthier me. I'm a social carnivore, meaning that while I lead a primarily vegetarian lifestyle, I still eat some meat, mainly pork and chicken. I'm fairly active on the 'Vegetarians Get Together' forums over on the official Weight Watchers site and help run one of the daily threads. I hope that this community will become more active and that we all can reach our goals of a healthier lifestyle! What attributes to beauty do you have? When do you feel the most comfortable? What makes you happy? Sometimes in this world of diet and excersize, we only see beauty as a size, or certain weight. What i want to know, is what makes you beautiful now! Is beautiful when you realize that you'll never be a size 2, but you can be a gorgeous size 12!? Or is beauty when you surround yourself with people who love you? Is beauty when you realize that losing those dreeaded 10 pounds wont make anyone love you more? I want to know.x-posted everywhere. I think everyone needs to be reminded that they are beautiful. Hello everyone --I lost 45 pounds on WW back in 2001 and felt great. Then, after a couple years, I went through an extremely stressful time psychologically and gained about 25-30 of those pounds back. I have been struggling to lose the weight again ever since, but keep finding myself falling off the wagon, and unable to find the willpower and steady focus I had in 2001. But just reading everyone's positive and helpful posts here is helping me find some strength already. I'm 35 and have been struggling with my weight all my life, and I really want to reach my goal weight and figure out how to stay there once and for all!My local meetings are on Tuesdays, so this Tuesday I am going to start up again. I hope to take inspiration from the others around me, both at the meetings and on here. I figure if I have to answer to someone, it will make it more likely that I stick to it, too!Thanks for listening :) My first week back on WW after a 2 month break and I WI today with a loss of 2.4#!!! I joined this group awhile ago and then about 2 months ago I decided to take a break from WW. I have been on WW since April of last year and I lost almost 30 pounds. Then all of sudden I just kept going back and forth between 5 pounds and couldn't actually reach that 30 pound mark. I just rejoin weight watchers today. I started last year, and lost 33 lbs. About three months ago i got off track, stop going to meetings, and all that good stuff. I put on two lbs since i stoped going to meetings, which i guess isn't really to much, but got scare that those lbs would keep adding up pretty quickly. I'm ready to start over, get back on track and hopefully lose 30 more lbs. I'm a freshman in college who just so happened to gain the fresman 15 rather quickly. Since then I've been trying hard to get back down to the weight I was last summer. I joined WW about a month ago, and it really helped at first, but I really messed up, and gained back the weight. I am new here and just thought i'd introduce myself. I'm going to start WW on May 1st, although i will not be going to any meetings. I do not have a ton of money, and i'm sorry, $11 a week is a lot for me. I used to go to WW a few years ago, and i still have all of the books, so i am just going to go back on the system. I am one of those "has already gotten to weight goal in the past, then gained it all back plus a bit more" people. But the bright side to that situation is that I know my goals are possible, and I know just how great I look and feel when I'm there! I tracked my points, I went to the gym more this week than I did last week, and it still didn't work. The only bad thing I did, was have to slices from a med. size pizza for lunch on Friday at work. I work in an elementary school and they had Papa Gino's pizza for lunch, which is one of my favorites! I had a big salad and some fruit with it too and then I also went to the gym. UGH! I think I need to up my cardio and play with my points a bit to make sure I lose some weight next week! UGH!Wish me luck!! I've also been adding a few of you to my friends list if that's OK. I have lost 30 pounds and have 15 more to go. Since November I have been stuck though! I keep trying to start over again, but it just hasn't been working. My current weight is a weight I was at for many years and my body is comfortable there. I am also comfortable with this weight so it's been tough getting past it. I keep going up and down with this same 5 pounds. I go to my weighins but I don't want to stay for the meetings. I journal for the first half of the week, but by the end of the week I forget or I eat something that isn't WW friendly, or whatever. So, in an effort to start as a "new member" I am trying to join some new groups. I need a goal, a motivation, but I just can't seem to get one motivating enough for me!!Other info. I am 30 years old, married for almost 6 years, no kids, 4 cats, and I work in an elementary school with autistic kids.
