Quality service is the main goal of the health care system, where the purpose of service quality is to ensure that the services or products of nursing services are produced according to the patient’s standards / desires. The purpose of this study was to find out the quality of work life of nurses in the Puskesmas.This study uses correlative design that connects the characteristics with the quality of the work life of nurses. The research sample was 48 nurses in Puskesmas who were taken by total sampling. Quality of Work Life of Nurses in Vellore City

The quality of work is always related to the activities which takes place at every level of an Organization and which simultaneously enhance human dignity, growth and promote greater organizational effectiveness. The job natures of nurses are hectic one. The Longer working hours, Emergency, various kinds of patients, shifts and the problems from other healthcare workers are all affecting the Nurses' productivity and performances. The productivity and performances significantly related with the quality of Work Life. The Descriptive Study is utilized to portray the attributes of Nurses in Private Hospitals. Defining the Quality of Life Levels of the Nurses: A Study in Pamukkale University Celalettin Serinkana, Keziban KAYMAKÇI b*

Quality of life (QOL) is a multidimensional conception is affected by culture, valve judgements, persons’ positions, purposes, believes, experiences, expectations and perceptions. QOL perceptions can show a change in time. It involves person’s physical, mental and social relations in family and out of family, environmental actions as well. Nowadays medicine develops increasingly, not only putting diseases away but also increasing persons’ quality of lives are aimed. Lifelong learning is an eternity process, voluntary and self-motivated pursuit of knowledge for not only personal but professional reasons as well.This activity is creative and constructive process to healthcare professionals for developing QOL. The aim of this study is to determine the QOL of the nurses working in Pamukkale University Research Hospital. The study was realized on 87 nurses the research was done by using random sample method. Using questionnaire short form SF-36 scale developed by Ware.The findings from surveying was analyzed Mann-Whitney U test and Kruskall- Wallis test using SPSS collected data.

The Correlation between the Quality of Nursing Work Life and Job Performance

Introduction: Nurses are one of the most important health workers who contribute to determining the quality of health services. Giving more attention to their condition and needs will increase their loyalty to the nursing profession, which will lead to a positive impact on their work performance. Therefore, this study aimed to analyse the correlation between the individual factors and the nurse’s performance, and also to see if there was a correlation between QNWL and the nurse’s performance. Method: The design of the study was a correlational research study with a cross-sectional approach. The sample consisted of 106 nurses, collected by simple random sampling. The independent variables were individual factors (education and length of work), and QNWL. The dependent variable was job performance. The data was collected by using questionnaires analysed using multiple linear regression with (p<0,05) degree of significance. Result and Analysis: The results showed that there was a correlation between education and the nurses’ performance (p=0,035), and also a correlation between QNWL and nurses’ performance (p=0,000). The length of time they’d been working was not influenced by the nurses’ performance (p=0,103). Discussion: The individual factors of education and QNWL had an impact on the nurses’ performance. It is suggested for the next researcher to analyse other significance factors that influence QNWL.

A Study on Quality of Work Life among Nurses Working In Private Hospitals an Thanjavur, Tamilnadu

A high quality of work life (QWL) is a crucial issue for health care facilities to have qualified, dedicated, and inspired employees. Among different specialties in health care settings, nurses have a major share among other health care providers. So, they should experience a better QWL to deliver high-quality holistic care to those who need help. Objective. To determine the quality of nursing work life among nurses working in selected private hospitals at Thanjavur. A cross-sectional study was conducted on 253 nurses of five hospitals. A multinomial logistic regression model was fitted to identify significant predictors of quality of work life using SPSS version 21. Results. The study showed that 67.2% of the nurses were dissatisfied with the quality of their work life. We found that educational status, monthly income, working unit, and work environment were strong predictors of quality of work life among nurses (í µí± < 0.05). Conclusion. Significant proportions of the nurses were dissatisfied with the quality of their work life. The findings in this study and studies reported from elsewhere pinpoint that perception of nurses about the quality of their work life can be modified if health care managers are considerate of the key issues surrounding QWL.

A Study on Quality of Work Life among Nurses in a Medical College Hospital in Bangalore

Introduction: Quality of Work Life (QWL) is defined as the extent to which an employee is satisfied with personal and working needs through participating in the workplace while achieving the goals of the organization. Objectives: To assess the quality of life of nurses working in a medical college hospital in Bangalore and the factors associated with it. Methods: Ethical approval from the institution and informed consent from the study participants was obtained and quality of life questionnaire was administered to all the nurses working in the hospital. Results: A total of 671 (88.5%) nurses participated in the study. Among the participants, 452 (67.7%) indicated that they have the autonomy to make patient care decisions, 500 (74.9%) were unable to balance their work and family lives, 656 (98.2%) were stressed in their work and 543 (81.3%) of nurses were unable to complete their work in the time available. Assessment of the quality of professional life of nurses

Context: The verification of quality of life at work (QLW) indices can provide information on factors that directly interfere with personal and collective satisfaction and motivation, with reflections on the excellence of the structure and service. Objective: To evaluate the quality of life at work of active nurses. Material and methods: descriptive and correlational, crosssectional study with a quantitative approach, carried out with 104 nurses in the service of a tertiary public hospital, in the municipality of Aracaju/SE from August 2018 to July 2019. Results: Factors such as working conditions, safety and remuneration are degrading factors in the quality of life at work and these also have direct repercussions on health and the quality of nursing care provided. Conclusion: Low levels of quality of life at work have direct negative repercussions on nurses' health. It is suggested that further studies evaluate the measures taken by hospital institutions to investigate the effectiveness of quality of life at work in nursing.

Staff Nurses' Performance Obstacles and Quality of Work Life at Benha University Hospital

Background: There are many performance obstacles related to work environment, organization, tools and tasks that hinder staff nurses from accomplishing their tasks, these performance obstacles increase their workload, decrease their resting time and reduce their satisfaction that contribute to nursing shortage consequently affect their quality of work life. Aim: The current study aimed to identify staff nurses' performance obstacles and quality of work life at Benha University Hospital. Research Design: A descriptive design was used. Setting: The study was conducted at Benha University Hospital in critical care units. Sample: Convenience sample included 119 staff nurses who were available in predetermined setting during the time of data collection and agreed to participate in this study. Data collection: Data was collected by using two tools: performance obstacles questionnaire and quality of work life questionnaire. Results: The present study revealed that (63%) of studied staff nurses reported high performance obstacles and (73.1%) of studied staff nurses had low level of quality of work life and there was a high statistical significant correlation between total performance obstacles of studied staff nurses and their quality of work life. Recommendations: Nurses should be able to determine their performance obstacles and inform regularly the hospital administration that should have interventions to overcome performance obstacles especially in critical care units. Improving the quality of work life is important to improve both individual and organizational performance. Further research about the factors that improve quality of work life for nurses should be conducted.

The effect of working conditions on the family, daily and social lives of the nurses employed at Çukurova University, Balcali Hospital

This study is performed in order to specify the working conditions and the issues of the nurses working in Adana City of Turkey at Çukurova University Balcalı Hospital; and to examine the effects of these on their family, daily and social lives. This was a descriptive study applied by distributing the survey form on 15.02.2008 to 238 nurses, which was prepared by benefitting from the literature; and by asking them to fill in the form voluntarily and recollecting the forms back. 55.9% of the nurses are married, 45.4% have license degree, 37.4% have associate degree and the average age is 39.4±5. Their term of employment is 10.09±7.45. Nurses stated that standing on duty effected their family lives (62.6%), social lives (60.9%), daily lives (60.5%), and they had problems from the point of children (76.5%). The most common reasons of complaint from the nurses during their daily lives were determined as follows: very tiring (76.5%), promotion facilities are limited (50.4%), needs extreme attention (42.4%), the given responsibility does not match with the level of the authority (40.8%) and there is a conflict between the working life, family duties and responsibilities (36.1%). The marital status of the nurses and its effect on the daily life (p<0.005) and on the social life (p<0.005) were found meaningful. The working conditions of the nurses need to be improved. Advanced researches may be suggested in order to meet the expectations of the nurses they have before starting their professions.

Quality of Nurses Work Life among Public and Private Sector Tertiary Care Hospitals of Peshawar (A Comparative Study)

Introduction: Among all health care providers, nurses have a signi cant role to provide Physical, Psychological, Spiritual, and Emotional care to individuals, families, and communities. To make nurses more effective in the workplace it is important to enhance nurse's quality of work life. The quality of work provided by nurses can be improved by knowing their Physiological, Psychological well-being and involvement at work. Moreover, different Environments and Setups of Public and Private Sectors Hospitals can have positive or negative impact on the quality of nurse's work-life. The objective of this study was to assess and compare the quality of nurse's work-life in Public and Private Sector Hospitals. Material and Methods: The research done at Khyber Teaching Hospital and Rehman Medical Institute Peshawar with a cross-sectional study design. From 218 Participants Pretested and Structured Brooks Nurses' Quality of Work-life questionnaire Brooks was lled. Data entered in SPSS for categorical variables frequency and percentages were done while for continuous variables mean and standard deviation was done. Results: A total of 218 nurses from Rehman Medical Institute and Khyber Teaching Hospital Peshawar Participated in the Research with a Mean Age of 28.47 and a Standard Deviation of 6.41. Chi Square test was used for association of Quality of Nurses Work Life (QNWL) and Two types of Hospitals. A major portion of the Sample i.e., 80.3% have Moderate Quality of Nurses Work Life, 18.8% have High Quality of Nurses Work Life, while less than 1% of the sample has low Quality of Nurses Work Life. The Mean Quality of Nurses Work Life Score for Public Hospital was 160±15.15 while for the Private Hospital the Mean Quality of Work Life Score was 172.07±20.57 which shows that Private Hospital Nurses had a High Quality of Work Life than Public Sector Nurses. The Overall Mean QNWL Score both for Public and Private Hospital Nurses was 165.23±18.37 with a Minimum Score of 67 and a Maximum Score of 217. Conclusion: The Research concluded Moderate QNWL among Public and Private Sector Nurses. Furthermore, despite inadequate salaries and poor job security Private-Sector Nurses were shown to have a higher QNWL than Public Sector Nurses.
