Steganography is a technique of hiding the data in images.It is derived from Greek word that means "Covered". Secret messages are embedded into the cover image to hide its existence from the hackers. While hiding the data in the image, there are two main things that we should kept in mind are maintaining the quality and security of image .There are no of points where we can hide the data in the cover image. Finding these optimal points for hiding the data is quite difficult work to do. So we require an efficient method for finding an optimal solution. For that we can use no. of optimization algorithm, Particle Swarm optimization is one of them which can be used for finding an optimal matrix for hiding the data. In this paper we are going to review some techniques of steganography for hiding the data and PSO algorithm for optimization.
Improvement of Image Steganography Using Discrete Wavelet Transform

Recently the Discrete-Wavelet-Transform (DWT) has been represented as signal processing powerful tool to separate the signal into its band frequency components. In this paper, improvement of the steganography techniques by hiding the required message into the suitable frequency band is presented. The results show that the increase of the message length will reduce the Peak Signal to Noise Ratio (PSNR), while the PSNR increases with the increasing the DWT levels. It should be noted that the PSNR reduction was from -13.8278 to -17.77208 when increasing the message length from 161 to 505 characters. In this context, the PSNR is increased from -13.8278 to 7.0554 and from -17.7208 to 1.7901 when the DWT increased from level (1) to level (2).
An Approach to Hide Information Using Wavelet Based Method
Steganography is a way of invisible communication through a cover media so as not to look suspicion on an eavesdropper's eyes. It is a way to provide security with the help of multimedia object.The characteristics of a steganographic method is describable using it's imperceptibility towards counter measure(attacks).A high level secure steganographic method is proposed in Discrete Wavelet Domain to hide secret image with accepted level of distortion.Visual difference between the cover and stego object is null.To demonstrate the performance of the algorithm experimental results have been shown using PSNR and MSE.

A Steganographic Method Based on Integer Wavelet Transform & Genatic Algorithm
The proposed system presents a novel approach of building a secure data hiding technique of steganography using inverse wavelet transform along with Genetic algorithm. The prominent focus of the proposed work is to develop RS-analysis proof design with higest imperceptibility. Optimal Pixal Adjustment process is also adopted to minimize the difference error between the input cover image and the embedded-image and in order to maximize the hiding capacity with low distortions respectively. The analysis is done for mapping function, PSNR, image histogram, and parameter of RS analysis. The simulation results highlights that the proposed security measure basically gives better and optimal results in comparison to prior research work conducted using wavelets and genetic algorithm.
Image Steganography Technique based on Singular Value Decomposition and Discrete Wavelet Transform

Steganography is a technique of hiding information in digital media. In recent years plenty of work has been done in this domain, and the work can be compared on various parameters such as high robustness and large capacity to achieve a goal. This paper proposed the method of steganography in digital media using Singular Value Decomposition (SVD) and Discrete Wavelet Transform (DWT). The DWT is a frequency-domain technique comprising DWT which comparatively offers better robustness and high PSNR value of stego image over other techniques. The proposed method works well for information hiding against AWGN (additive white Gaussian noise) attack and fulfills the objective to achieve high robustness and high PSNR.
Dwt and Particle Swarm Optimization Based Digital Image Watermarking
This is the age of digital technology. There are amazing development has been made in the digital technology. now a day there are many work which is necessary for human used in the form of digital such as electronic publishing and advertising, transaction processing, digital image and libraries, web newspapers and magazines, network video and audio etc. These are mainly represented in digital form but due to its digital form its duplication, piracy and modification are easy. Hence to reduce these problems and increase its security various different type of watermarking is used. In this paper we proposed a secure optimized watermarking scheme for digital images, which is based on the particle swarm optimization. For embedding process we use the discrete wavelet transform for the cover image transformation and particle swarm optimization (PSO) which is based on co-relation coefficient are used to detect the high energy coefficient watermark bit in the cover image and then hide the watermark to the cover image. Then different type of attacks is employed to the watermarked image to access it robustness and imperceptibility. The performance of the scheme is evaluated by the PSNR and Correlation coefficient. The proposed scheme provides a good imperceptibility and robust for various attacks.

Data hiding is a method of concealing secret data into a cover media and preventing a spectator from being aware of the existence of the hidden message. According to the problems of steganography, the main effort is to provide a better imperceptibility of stego-image that can be done by decreasing distortion of image. One of the popular techniques in data hiding is steganography in which the simple method for image hiding is the Least Significant Bit (LSB) substitution method. Wu et al. proposed two image hiding techniques to improve the quality of the stego-image [1]. The first one is to find the best block matching matrix and the other one is to find the optimal substitution matrices. The proposed method utilizes particle Swarm optimization (PSO) for finding the best pixel locations, and then the secret image is transformed to a new secret image. Image Steganography Technique Using Daubechies Discrete Wavelet Transform

The world in modern days is being more and more tied up to the use of technology for facilitating day to day tasks. In this regard, information security is turning to be great challenge when sending information from one place to another with the aid of technology. Steganography is one of the techniques for the safe transmission which involves hiding information generally with other information that only the receiver will know. In this research, steganography technique using Daubechies Discrete Wavelet Transform (DWT) is implemented. First the cover image is transformed using Daubechies DWT and secret information is embedded in coefficients of Daubechies DWT which gives stego image. Reverse process is applied to obtain secret information from stego image. The performance of the proposed approach is evaluated using PSNR and MSE. Also analysis is done to find the best sub-band to hide information among different sub-bands of Daubechies DWT.
