As the COVID-19 pandemic strikes Jordan, many universities have implemented online education. However, effective use by students has been hindered by many challenges and attitudes. In this paper, we examine the experiences and attitudes of students during the COVID-19 pandemic in regards to online education, focusing on Al-Balqa Applied University and Jerash University. An online questionnaire was administered to 200 students from 2 different universities who took different online courses through Al-Balqa Applied University and Jerash University. The study found that students from Al-Balqa Applied University and Jerash University face similar challenges in e-learning. Moreover, female students suffered more than male students during the pandemic with regard to the challenges they faced in e-learning. COVID-19 pandemic has disrupted teaching in a vriety of institutions. It has tested the readiness of academic institutions to deal with such abrupt crisis. Online learning has become the main method of instruction during the pandemic in Jordan. After 4 months of online education, two online surveys were distributed to investigate faculty’s and Students’ perception of the learning process that took place over that period of time with no face to face education. This study attempts to examine the perceptions of EFL students in Palestinian universities about online learning advantages, challenges, and solutions during Corona pandemic. Moreover, it aims to highlight the efficiency of online learning as an educational system which can be relied on to achieve goals of high educational institutions. The researchers investigated the current s ituation of online learning in Palestinian universities during the COVID-19 pandemic using a questionnaire. In the questionnaire, the participants were 191 students (161 females and 30 males), and all of the participants have tried the online learning experience during this pandemic. 33% of them took online courses before, while 67% did not. The questionnaire was posted on 6 English clubs’ websites of 6 Palestinian universities: Birzet Univers ity, AnNajah National University, Bethlehem University, Hebron University, Al-Quds University, and Pales tine Ahliya University. The investigation was concerned in pointing out the challenges facing the students during their online courses, in addition to finding out solutions in terms of involving students in the assessment process. The findings confirmed the need to conduct changes and improvements regarding the implementation of e-learning in the educational process in order to help high ministries of education achieve more real success in spreading knowledge. The researchers concluded that there should be massive efforts in improving the technological infrastructure besides holding good training programs for both students and teachers.

The pandemic of COVID-19 has forced the Indonesian government through its Ministry of Education and Culture to implement policies moving conventional classroom to online classroom. The current study is a collective case study consisting of analysis of survey on students' perceptions of their online learning during the pandemic. Sixty-six students of English Language Education Study Program at Pamane Talino College of Education (STKIP Pamane Talino) were involved. Their perception s of their online classroom that were recorded through a survey. The recorded perceptions are in terms of students' participation, accessibility, material and assignment delivery, and the use of e-learning platforms. The results were then summarized into tables and narrative descriptions. The study identified three major obstacles in conducting online learning in English Language Education Study Program at STKIP Pamane Talino: the first is availability and sustainability of internet connection, the second is accessibility of the teaching media, and the last is the compatibility of tools to access the media. The result of the current study suggests that accessibility is still the major factor influencing the success of online learning. Online learning for English Language Education Study Program at STKIP Pamane Talino, and potentially Indonesia in general, requires some more friendly platforms so that students' participation can be increased. This is especially for students who reside in rural areas with limited internet connections and other support systems.
Jordanian University Students’ Views on Emergency Online Learning During COVID-19

The present study investigates the influence of digital technology, instructional and assessment quality, economic status and psychological state, and course type on Jordanian university students’ attitudes towards online learning during the COVID-19 emergency transition to online learning. A survey of 4,037 undergraduate students representing four Jordanian public and private universities revealed that personal challenges (such as economic and psychological stress) decreased students’ willingness to learn online in the future, while the quality of the online experience (including instructional and assessment quality) improved their attitudes towards learning online in the future. Students also believed that Arts & Humanities courses were better suited for online teaching/learning than Sciences courses, a difference that persisted after controlling for personal challenges and the quality of the online learning experience.
An Analysis of University Students' Perspective on Online Learning in the Midst of Covid-19 Pandemic

In this study we address and investigate university students' perspective on utilizing online learning in the midst of COVID-19 pandemic. This research used qualitative descriptive method. The subject of this research were the learners of Elementary School Teacher Education, Physical Education, Sociology Education and English Education Department of Universitas Megarezky in 2019/2020 academic year. The number of respondents was 40 respondents. The research instruments were questionnaire that was obtained by google form through analyzing participants' response to know their perspective in using online learning and in-depth interview. The study showed that previously, students did not use online learning before the pandemic because learning was conducted in the classroom. In the midst of covid-19 pandemic, the students are interested in using online learning in which can be accessed flexible, anywhere and everywhere. The best application used by lecturers and students was WhatsApp application. It can be concluded that the students' perspective on online learning had a positive impact in the midst of the covid-19 pandemic.
Saudi EFL University Instructors’ Perceptions of Online Education During the COVID-19 Pandemic

This study aimed to investigate the EFL university instructors’ perceptions of online education during the COVID-19 pandemic. The participants were 32; 87.5% of them were females while 12.5% were males. They belonged to many higher educational institutions in Saudi Arabia. Data were collected using an online questionnaire. This questionnaire included four parts which were (1) the participants’ demographic information, (2) the advantages of online education during the COVID-19 pandemic, (3) the disadvantages of online education during the COVID-19 pandemic, and finally (4) the effectiveness of online education during the COVID-19 pandemic. The results revealed that most of the participants had a more dominant positive attitude regarding online learning activities although some of them claimed that there were some negative aspects that should be taken into consideration. Online learning has become important to most students and lecturers in this academic era due to the COVID-19 Pandemic. This study attempted to investigate issues pertaining to online learning among university students in Malaysia during this pandemic. The online interview technique used various online platforms involving 147 students from 16 universities in Malaysia. Data from the interview were analysed using ATLASti. Findings indicated that there are seven challenges that might limit the intention to use online learning among students. The challenges outlined are the administrator's assessment, communication issues that limit social interaction during online learning sessions, technical issues as well as an unstable Internet connection and insufficient data capacity. This study could contribute to the existing corpus of knowledge that could help universities to strategize the future implementation of online learning and minimize the challenges. This could improve the intention and preferences to use online learning for future implementation.
