DOI10.55643/fcaptp.1.48.2023.3968 (Web of Science) In accordance with the conditions of development of the modern economy, the business faces the task of the most efficient use of resources and providing opportunities for permanent stable retention of its own market position. All this is possible only by following modern trends, one of which today is the digitalization of social and economic processes, activities of enterprises, and organizations. To understand the extent of the implementation of digitalization approaches in the functioning of enterprises, it is necessary to pay attention to the analysis of statistical data and identify the main directions for improving the economic situation in enterprises with the active implementation and use of modern digital technology. The purpose of the study is to conduct an economic and statistical analysis of the main indicators related to the digitalization of Ukrainian enterprises and to develop relevant recommendations based on the results of such analysis. During the research, the following methods were used: economic and statistical analysis, deduction and induction, the method of comparisons, and graphic methods. Based on the results of the research, the main trends regarding the innovative activity of Ukrainian enterprises, innovation costs and sources of financing innovative activities were determined. A number of recommendations regarding increasing the efficiency of the digitization process at Ukrainian enterprises are offered. Formed recommendations can be used by state managers and management of enterprises as a basis for making management decisions regarding the digitalization process at enterprises.

During the last decade of the twentieth century, there was an extraordinary development in the use of digital technologies to change a business model and provide new revenue and value-producing opportunities; it is the process of moving to a digital business. There was very less awareness about the digitalization of business. Due to a lack of knowledge, ability, and implementation problem, retailers were not moving towards digitalization. Due to the existence of the above problem a study has been conducted with the objective to examine the awareness about "Digitalization of Business" among small businesses and the scope of digitalization in small businesses. To study "Digitalization a boon for transforming small businesses" we have undertaken a survey of 40 Retail small businesses (10 medicals, 10 general stores, 10 clothes shops, and 10 snacks corner) from Panvel area. After the survey, I found that there was very less awareness of digitalization. I also found that due to lack of knowledge, ability, and implementation problem, retailers were not moving towards digitalization and most of the retailer felt worthy to use digitalization in their business and grow. So, there is a necessity to create awareness about technology with the help of workshops, Conferences, WoM, etc. There is a need to put forward the examples of set businesses that have adopted the same technology by demonstrating their business. Surveys show that only every third company in Russia has chosen a digital transformation strategy and has implemented it. What slows down the development of these kinds of strategies in companies? The choice of the strategy is partly defined by the level of readiness of the company’s management system, business processes, architecture, etc. Existing tools of evaluating companies’ readiness for digital transformation lack of universality, formalization and often use highly professional terminology. The study is aimed at answering the questions of whether the key terms concerned with digitalization are understandable by Russian companies and whether it is possible to use existing criteria systems to assess companies’ readiness for digital transformation. Digital transformation (DT), as one of the contemporary paradigms, means a radical change in the way of doing business and is motivated through the need to adapt to the digital age. Organizations try to add or create new value for their customers by innovating existing or developing new business models and designing new products and/or services, implementing and using thereby new modern digital technologies. The selection of appropriate digital technologies, which are supposed to enable the desired business change, is addressing different challenges.
