Migrant Workers Empowerment through Productive Migrant Village Programs in Banyumas, Indonesia

This study explains empowering Indonesian Migrant Workers (IMW) through Productive Migrant Village Programs (PMVP) in the Banyumas Regency. PMVP is a program of the Ministry of Manpower of the Republic of Indonesia held since 2016. The program aims are to empower, improve services and protection for IMWs starting from the village. The paradigm of the study is a constructivist paradigm by using a critical model. The research method used is a qualitative method with a phenomenological approach, which explores data to get the meaning of the basic and essential things of the empirical phenomena experienced by the research subject. The Productive Migrant Village Program (Desmigratif) is a breakthrough effort by the Ministry of Manpower in collaboration with various institutions to empower, improve services and provide protection for Indonesian Migrant Workers/Migrant Worker applicants in villages that become migrant worker enclaves. Empowerment Ex Indonesian Migrant Women Workers Based On Local Wisdom (Study at Malang District-Indonesia)

The aim of the research conducted is to formulate a Model of Empowering Women Ex Indonesian Migrant Workers Based On Local Wisdom. The Ex Indonesian Migrant Women Worker analyses used in this study are GIS and Cluster analysis. While The Map of Business Attribute Preference in Effort to Empower Ex Indonesian Migrant Women Worker Based On Local Wisdom analyses used here are a map of business preference and factor analysis. Based on Druju villag’s local wisdom, the researcher offers two kinds of business, namely processing batik products and corn products. Effectiveness of Entrepreneurship Instructions in Order to Enhance Post Migration Indonesian Migrant Workers’ Entrepreneurial Independence

Indonesian migrant worker is someone who had worked in abroad and had already back to their country. In this research, then use the term TKI. This research aimed to; (1) arrange the component of entrepreneurship instructional to improve post-migration Indonesian migrant workers' (TKI) knowledge, and (2) to measure the effectiveness of post-migration entrepreneurship instructions in East Lombok District. Methodologically, this development research uses a systems approach model of instructional design which its main stage includes 9-phase operations developed by (Dick, Carey, & Carey, 2011). The results reveal: (1) entrepreneurship instructional component includes; syllabus, lesson plan, learning guide and entrepreneurship modules, and (2) the entrepreneurship instructional tested can improve learning outcome so that the entrepreneurship instructional is effective in enhancing post-migration TKI entrepreneurial independence in Lombok Timur. This research is important as ex-migrant workers need to learn to survive in the homeland after their work overseas has been over.

The complexity of the problems faced by Indonesian migrant workers (IMW) is a problem that needs to be taken seriously. One of the efforts made by the government to overcome this is the productive migrant village (PMV) Program. Purpose: This research aims to analyze the implementation of policies on developing Indonesian migrant workers’ families in the field of economic empowerment in Kupang city. Research methodology: The method used in this research is a qualitative research method with a case study approach. Results: The implementation of the family empowerment program for Indonesian workers is going well. This is supported by the existence of good communication, the availability of information and human resources, the influence of the position, and organizational arrangements to run the program in accordance with the SOP. Limitations: This research only analyzes the implementation of policies on the development of Indonesian migrant workers’ families in the field of economic empowerment in Kupang city. The evaluation of Indonesian migrant workers empowerment program at BP3TKI Serang

The process of developing, becoming self-reliant, self-supporting, and increasing the bargaining position of lower-class groups so that they can become a pressing force in society is known as community empowerment. If community empowerment program participants understand and can perform everything that has been presented in the empowerment program, the empowerment program can run effectively and efficiently. The empowerment program must be evaluated for the program's aims and objectives to be further developed, continued, or even discontinued. This research used the CIPP evaluation model developed by Huberman. The results found that the empowerment program provided many benefits for migrants workers from preventing them back to work as migrant workers abroad but it was also found that some of them go back to work as migrant workers as the business built as a result of the empowerment program did not run as expected.

From Entrepreneurship to Social Activist: The Role of Indonesian Migrant Entrepreneurs in Taiwan and Socio-Economic Functions of Return-Migrant Entrepreneurship in Malang, East Java

In the case of Taiwan, Indonesian migrant entrepreneurs’ active in social activities; they are linked strongly to the petty conditions of co-migrants. In various cases, entrepreneurs play the role of friends in need, acting as third-party resources, to co-migrants, who turn to the former for help and self-actualization. Their activities contribute to bridging the relations between the larger community and Indonesian migrants living as a minority and as marginal foreign newcomers in Taiwan. Meanwhile, the case study of Indonesian return-migrant entrepreneurship at the home village of Malang found that migration and returning home experiences increase socio-economic mobility and develop socioeconomic activities at home villages. The migrants’ experiences and enterprise activities have emerged as a critical source of sustainable livelihoods, migration knowledge of production application, self-transformation, and the economic reintegration process for return migrants in their home villages, all of which can create a new life for returnees after migration. Practically and theoretically speaking, the manner in which migrant and return-migrant entrepreneurs perform economic adaptation or social adjustment, indicates that the socio-economic function, comprising valuable ties that cut across classes, can prevent the social and economic isolation of disadvantaged entrepreneurs, co-migrants, and return migrants in the community.

Implementation of The Fulfullment of The Rights of Migrant Workers Post Plecement in Pamekasan, Indonesia

Everyone who works abroad to fulfill their economic needs is a migrant worker. Migrant workers are Indonesians whose goal is to seek sustenance abroad to fulfill their needs. Limited employment opportunities and economic factors motivate people to look for opportunities to find work abroad. Indonesians feel that working abroad is expected to improve their economic and social conditions. This research uses the Empirical judicial method, which can also be called field research. Data collection techniques in this study used direct interviews, literature studies, and descriptive qualitative data processing technique. The results showed that the provision of protection to Indonesian Migrant Workers After placement, protection is provided to their families in the form of empowerment programs and new entrepreneurial assistance for former migrant workers and their families. Fulfillment of rights for former Indonesian migrant workers in the form of family rights and the rights of former migrant workers Rights for former migrant workers in the form of remittance management, which is useful for improving welfare and rights.
