Abstract

This is a research on the functioning dynamics of the repressive material environment used by the Dictatorship in Porto Alegre / RS (1964-1985) and the relevance of the gender system in the ideological apparatus that sustained it. Based on a decolonial and intersectional feminist theoretical framework, I discuss the architecture of the Penitenciária Feminina Madre Pelletier, Ilha do Presídio and DOPS / RS, as well as reports of people arrested by the Dictatorship in these places, with the objective of identifying the axes of oppression that operated as punitive devices on the bodies of confined people.
