There are still doubts about the real benets of physical activity on the academic performance of adolescents. The aim of this study was to determine whether the physical activity (PA) interferes in the academic performance of high school students.The study included 348 adolescents from one fed- eral public school. For information regarding PA, the International Physical Activity Questionnaire (IPAQ short-version) was used. For PAL classication the adolecents who had 300 minutes/week or more of physical activity were considered as active. The information related to the participation in sports schools was obtained through a question inserted in IPAQ. It is a common expectation that bookworm students can perform well and contribute more towards enhancement in academic performance instead of physically active student or best known as sport students. Thus, this study seeks to measure the level of physical activity and explore academic achievement, as well as to examine if there is a relationship between physically active students and academic achievement among student-athletes in a public secondary school in Kedah. Survey method was employed using a set of questionnaires. Purposive sampling method was used to gather information from 22 selected students-athletes involving 8 classes from various sports backgrounds. Results indicated that the associations of physical activity and fitness with cognitive function are relatively few but generally showed a positive association between physical activity and cognitive function of students.

While physical activity can be one of the daily supports for good health that can help the educational process, the present study aims to determine the relationship between physical activity and academic achievement. It was quantitative correlational research involving 1045 students from 21 elementary schools (ESs) selected through proportional random sampling. Physical activity was measured by using the Assessment of Physical Activity Levels Questionnaire (APALQ), and academic achievement was investigated through the average scores of the previous semester's report card. The study revealed three categories of physical activity, namely ‘very active’, ‘moderately active’, and ‘inactive’. Comparison of Physical Activity Levels of Middle School and High School Students

The aim of this study is to compare the physical activity levels of middle school and high school students in Canakkale province. The study included 426 female and 417 male students aged 10-17 years who voluntarily participated. The PAQ survey developed by Kowalski et al. was used to determine physical activity levels of students participating in the study. The responses of students to the survey questions had mean and standard deviation calculated and the T test used for analysis with SPSS. For middle school students, the mean age of female students was 12.16±1.23 and the mean age of male students was 12.23±1.24 years. For high school, the mean age of female students was 16.31±1.17 and the mean age of male students was 16.32±1.29 years. The Relationship between Physical Activity and Physical Fitness of Elementary School Students

The aim of this research was to determine the effect of physical activity on the physical fitness of elementary school students. The sample in this research was elementary school students in the city of Medan with a total of 60 students. This type of research uses correlational variables with physical activity and physical fitness. The results of the research show that there is a significant correlation between physical activity variables and physical fitness, and the correlation coefficient is 0.234 with a (p) value of 0.043, which means that the significant relationship between physical activity and students' physical fitness is acceptable. The correlation results above obtained a determinant coefficient value of 0.059. The result to find out the percentage of the relationship between these two variables is 0.070 x 100 = 7%. So, 7% of students' physical fitness, which is influenced by physical activity and 93% is influenced by other factors. The conclusion in this study is that the results of data analysis prove that there is a significant correlation between physical activity and students' physical fitness, physical activity has a low relationship to physical fitness and the direction of the relationship is linear.
Physical activity levels of the students on secondary school

Physical inactivity is known to be a health threatening factor in modern society. The aim was to establish whether there were differences between physical activity (PA) levels of adolescent girls and boys. The sample of 202 students at the Zagreb Secondary School of Graphic Arts, attending the 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th classes, was explored using the International Physical Activity Questionnaire (IPAQ). Statistically significant differences were obtained in all the investigated variables in the levels of involvement in PA in favour of male adolescents. The greatest differrence, however, was obtained by means of independent sample t-test in the variable INTPA TOTAL, describing an entire week intensity of PA. Background: Physical fitness is a degree of health status as a basic physical condition of someone to perform daily activity. Elementary school students should have a good physical fitness to obtain satisfactory academic achievement. The purpose of this study was to examine the correlation between physical fitness and academic achievement. Methods: This study used an observational analytical method with cross-sectional design, conducted from September−October 2013, using total sampling method. There were 82 students of the 4th−6th-grade from Cikeruh 2 elementary school at Jatinangor. The school was chosen by random selection. The physical fitness assessment in this study consisted of step test to measure cardiorespiratory endurance, body mass index (BMI) for body composition, push-up for muscular strength and sit-up for muscular flexibility. Academic achievement was collected from the last examination result. Each component of physical fitness test results were converted to a score and then categorized. Results: Most students (74.4%) had fair physical fitness, boys 68.3%, and girls 80.5%. No correlation was found between physical fitness and academic achievement (p=0.432 and r=0.162). Conclusions: There is no significant correlation between physical fitness and academic achievement.
According to various national and international reports, the Moroccan education system still suffers from recurrent dysfunctions reflected in low student achievement. Indeed, different factors influence the scores of students including the rate of physical inactivity. The objective of this study is to evaluate the relationship between physical activity, sedentary behaviours and school outcomes. 689 students enrolled at Moroccan secondary schools, aged between 14 and 25, were randomly recruited from each grade. For each student, the overall average for the first semester was calculated and classified into three levels: high, me dium and low. The school performance of girls is significantly higher (p< 0.05) than that of boys while boys are significantly more active (p<0.05) than girls. Physically active students have high er overall school mark averages than inactive students. Indeed, significant positive associations between the level of physical activity and school performance (r=0.176; p<0.001) and with physical education and sports performance were noted. In conclusion, the practice of physical activity should be encouraged among Moroccan students. It has beneficial effects on health in general and especially on the school performance of children and adolescents.
The Significance of Physical Activity of Young Schoolchildren

One of the priority objectives of physical education in elementary school is a positive impact on all basic motor abilities. Additional physical activity in the form of training, according to most previous studies, increases the positive effects of physical education. In a sample of 266 second, third and fourth grade elementary school children attending the "Jovan Popovic" school in Sremska Mitrovica, the motor abilities of children with different levels of physical activity were investigated. The comparison of the schoolchildren who participated in the organized extracurricular activities and those schoolchildren involved in physical education classes as the only form of physical activity was conducted. The assessment of motor abilities was carried out based on the following battery of tests: the long jump, running 20m, obstacle course backwards, deep forward bend, body bend and folding endurance. The application of the multivariate (MANOVA) and univariate (ANOVA) data analysis and the obtained research results led to the conclusion there are statistically significant differences between these two groups, at the level of statistical significance of p<0.05, which means that extracurricular physical activities contribute significantly to the development of motor abilities in young schoolchildren.
A Multivariate Study for Determining the Relationship Between Physical Activity, Physical Fitness, and Academic Performance, 2023
The relationship between physical activity, physical fitness, and academic performance has been widely studied internationally. However, reports of this relationship are contradictory, and its impact is still a matter of controversy. For that reason, the current research determined the correlation between these three variables in a group of 56 female and 48 male Colombian students with an average age of 14.08 ± 0.89 years. A quantitative, correlational, and crosssectional study was carried out. The physical activity was evaluated using PAQ-A questionnaire. For physical fitness, six tests from the Euro fitness battery were used. The academic performance in Spanish, Math, Natural, and Social Sciences were obtained from the grades for the participants at the end of the academic year. Correlations were determined by multivariate multiple linear regression. The obtained results suggest that aerobic endurance test had effect in the studied variables, whereas the correlation of the other tested predictors did not show any meaningful statistical result. In fact, academic performance is not affected by the physical fitness of the students at the time course grades were measured.
