Alcoholic sensor to side step drunken driving road accidents
International Journal of Advance Research, Ideas and Innovations in Technology, 2019
As for the survey done on the drunken and driving accidents are becoming more day by day. To overcome this issue we can initialize the alcoholic sensor and seat belt sensor to the vehicles. If we place an alcoholic sensor in the vehicles that sensors will identify the percentage of alcohol containing in the body and allow the engine to gets starts if the percentage of alcohol is more than the limit ignition will be blocked by the sensor. To sidestep the drunken driving accidents our proposed work may be useful to society. This system is integrating on the alcohol sensor, seat belt sensor with a microcontroller, relay switch and battery. The alcohol sensor used in our project is MQ-3 which detect the presence of alcohol content in human breath. Vehicle ignition system gets power from the battery through a relay switch. The ignition system will operate based on the level of Blood Alcohol Content (BAC) in human breath detected by the alcohol sensor and if the seat belt is not used then the sensor will not allow microcontroller supply power to spark plug.

The proposed model is developed using Arduino Uno and alcohol detection sensor (MQ-3) as its major components. As a safety measure, when the level of alcohol crosses a permissible limit, the vehicle ignition system (DC Motor) will be turned off and the concerned authority will be alerted using the GSM module.
Drunk Driving Detection Vehicle Controller
Today every country is facing serious problems with drunken drivers. Drunk driving is the reason behind most of the car accidents. So we are introducing system that will detect drunken driver by alcohol sensor through driver breath fitted on steering in front of driver. This system is aimed at making vehicle driving safer than before. We have derived the driver's condition in real time environment and we propose the detection of alcohol using alcohol detector such that when the level of alcohol crosses a permissible limit, the vehicle ignition system will turn off and the GPS module will capture the present location of the vehicle. Also the GSM module will automatically send distress message to police or family members. It has a smart electronic system which continuously monitors the alcohol content in the air surrounding by the body of the protagonist. Speed of the vehicle varies on the content of alcohol detected. Vehicle based countermeasure system progressively monitors the speed locking system of the vehicle running from high (100kmph), medium (60-80kmph) and low (40kmph) which helps the driver to reach destination safely. In extreme situations the system disables the vehicle by switching off the ignition. The Global Positioning System (GPS) captures the location and sends information to the authorities with the help of a Global System for Mobile (GSM) device with the onetime password. Only after the password is entered the vehicle can be restarted. In the back end, all the riding circumstances, amount of alcohol detected, vehicle speed and the location is uploaded into web server automatically and accurately as soon as the sign of alcohol detected for investigation purpose. All the functions in the project are carried out with the help of ARM 7 based LPC 2148 microcontroller. This paper talks about vehicle accident prevention by using methods of alcohol sensor banded together as a team in an effort to reduce traffic accidents.

Present work deals with the application of raspberry pi CPU based sensing system to the detection of driver's lethargy and alcoholism in order to avoid the road accidents. The embedded system consists of 5 megapixel digital camera, alcohole detection sensor and the buzzeer interfaced to the microcontroller. The embedded system is controlled by Raspbian operating system. The system detects real time situation of the driver's vigilance and control over the vehicle. If alcoholic and / or drowsiness tests are positive, it (i) switches on the alarm, (ii) turn off the vehicle's engine via microcontroller based program controlling ignition power source and (iii) sends a sms to the person close to the driver's location.

This project is developed by integrating the alcohol sensor with the microcontroller. The alcohol sensor used in this project is MQ-2 which detects the presence of alcohol content in human breath. An ignition system with spark plugs is build up as a prototype to act like the ignition starter over the vehicle's engine. The ignition system will operate based on the level of Blood Alcohol Content (BAC) in human breath detected by the alcohol sensor.
Integrated Drunken Driving Prevention System
2010
As is needless to say; a majority of accidents, which occur, are due to drunk driving. As such, there is no effective mechanism to prevent this. Here we have designed an integrated system for the same purpose. Alcohol content in the driver-s body is detected by means of an infrared breath analyzer placed at the steering wheel. An infrared cell directs infrared energy through the sample and any unabsorbed energy at the other side is detected. The higher the concentration of ethanol, the more infrared absorption occurs (in much the same way that a sunglass lens absorbs visible light, alcohol absorbs infrared light). Thus the alcohol level of the driver is continuously monitored and calibrated on a scale. When it exceeds a particular limit the fuel supply is cutoff. If the device is removed also, the fuel supply will be automatically cut off or an alarm is sounded depending upon the requirement. This does not happen abruptly and special indicators are fixed at the back to avoid inconve...
DRINK AND DRIVE DETECTION SYSTEM
Nowadays most of the accidents in the world are caused due to drink and driving or driving under the influence of alcohol (DUI).Its proven that more than 70% of road accidents in India is due to drink and driving. In this paper we propose an interlock system technology in vehicles that will prevent the driver from driving if the alcohol content is above the legal limit (0.03% per 100ml in India). This technology will automatically detect the blood alcohol concentration (BAC) by means of two techniques a breath based sensor and touch based sensor and if above the legal limit will not allow car ignition. The breath based system will measure the alcohol concentration in the blood through the driver's exhaled air. Touch based sensor will read the alcohol level below the skin surface. If the driver chooses to switch off or tamper the system then the RFID tag will send information to the traffic control unit so that they can further take actions so as to prevent him from causing impairment.
Design and implementation of an alcohol detection driver system
A technology called an alcohol detection driver system is used to stop drunk driving by identifying alcohol in a motorist's breath or blood. This technology correctly measures the amount of alcohol a driver has in their system using sensors and algorithms, and it stops the car from starting if the amount is more than the legal limit. The number of fatal accidents and traffic fatalities caused by drinking could be greatly decreased thanks to this technology. The main focus of this project is to carry out the experiment in lowering the number of alcohol-related incidents on the road. Alcohol detection devices come in a variety of forms right now, including ignition interlocks, passive alcohol sensors, and in-car breathalyzers. Although these systems have reduced the number of drunk driving accidents, there remain questions about their efficiency, dependability, and cost. According to the sensor's specs, the output voltage of the MQ-3 sensor reduces by 69% during the sensor's recovery period of 30 seconds at 69% of baseline resistance. To assess the long-term viability and efficiency of these systems in lowering alcohol-related accidents and enhancing traffic safety, more research is required.
Alcohol Detection and Automatic Drunken Drive Avoiding System
The main aim of this project is to design an embedded system for implementing a efficient alcohol detection system that will be useful to avoid accidents. There are many different types of accidents which occur in daily life. Accidents may cause due to many reasons it may be due to brake fail. Most often accidents occur due to over drunken person. Though there are laws to punish drunken drivers they cannot be fully implemented. Because traffic police cannot stand on every road to check each and every car driver whether he/she has drunk or not. This can be a major reason for accidents. So there is a need for a effective system to check drunken drivers. Therefore in order to avoid these accidents we have implemented a prototype project. In our project, Initially we check whether the person has drunken or not by using the MQ3 GAS sensor. In this system, sensor circuit is used to detect whether the alcohol was consumed by driver or not. To this end, we have designed such a system that when alcohol concentration is detected then car will be stopped and the related information will go to nearby location through GSM. This project is based on EMBEDDED C programming using AVR-AT mega 16 microcontroller.
