Because it describes the pillar components for any supply chain change, the suggested work is valuable for both academics and practitioners. It also suggests a set of study questions that might be utilized as a foundation for the field's future research. This research presents a fresh and original literature review-ba...
Industry 4.0 in Supply Chain Management and its Impact on Manufacturing Sectors
IRJET, 2022
"Industry 4.0" mainly focuses on automation of system and method, digitalization, and knowledge exchange in industries. Its goal is to realize a sensible industrial plant to cut back interval to retort to the customers' demand or to unforeseen events and improve productivity within the system. Victimization this idea will result in enhancements in producing supply chain [SC], and provision. The adoption of Industry 4.0 in provides supply chain management [SCM] could be a new and important subject with a requirement for additional analysis. Many studies have started reviewing the present works on business 4.0. However, they are not focusing on its role in SCM. This paper presents a scientific review and synthesis of the present literature on Industry 4.0 in SCM that brings out some fascinating findings, which is able to be useful for the tutorial and business, particularly prime managers. This work identifies three classes from the content of the papers as alpha vs. validating, quality vs. quantity, management level vs. process/technology level. In addition, supported the subject Modeling technique, three completely different clusters of provides Chain, provision and producing topics were extracted with current shortcomings, challenges, and future analysis directions square measure.
Setting a Research Agenda for the Application of Industry 4.0 in the Supply Chain
2022
Industry 4.0 has revolutionised supply chain management by facilitating the digitisation of processes and smart decision-making. The role of Industry 4.0 in supply chain management has attracted research attention in recent years. This study examines the conceptual and intellectual structure of Industry 4.0 research in the supply chain in the current literature using a bibliometric analysis performed by VOSviewer software. The items “Industry 4.0” and “supply chain” are connected by co-occurrence, citation or co-citation linkages, providing visualization of scientific maps. Based on the significant increase in the number of papers since 2018, the most relevant clusters and the most cited articles have been analysed. Among the most researched topics, we found the relationship of Industry 4.0 in the development of a more sustainable supply chain, highlighting its relationship with the circular economy. It has also delved into the implementation of the same through smart technologies s...
The impact of Industry 4.0 implementation on supply chains
Journal of Manufacturing Technology Management, 2020
Purpose – The research aims to analyse the impact of Industry 4.0 implementation on supply chains and develop an implementation framework by considering potential drivers and barriers for Industry 4.0 paradigm. Design/methodology/approach –A critical literature review is performed to explore key drivers and barriers for Industry 4.0 implementation under four business dimensions: strategic, organizational, technological, and legal & ethical. A system dynamics model is later developed to understand the impact of Industry 4.0 implementation on supply chain parameters, by including both the identified driving forces and barriers for this technological transformation. The results of the simulation model are utilised to develop a conceptual model for a successful implementation and acceleration of Industry 4.0 in supply chains. Findings – Industry 4.0 is predicted to bring new challenges and opportunities for future supply chains. The study discussed several implementation challenges and proposed a framework for an effective adaption and transition of Industry 4.0 concept into supply chains. Practical implications – The study is expected to benefit supply chain managers in understanding the challenges for implementing Industry 4.0 in their network. Originality/value- Simulation analysis provides examination of Industry 4.0 adoption in terms of its impact on SC performance and allows incorporation of both the drivers and barriers of this technological transformation into the analysis. Besides providing an empirical basis for this relationship, a new conceptual framework is proposed for Industry 4.0 implementation in supply chains. The role of Industry 4.0 in digitalization of production and supply chains
Ekonomika
Industry 4.0 enables intelligent manufacturing that focuses on designing, creating and delivering products and services tailored to individual customer requirements. This industry encourages the integration of various intelligent manufacturing systems and advanced information technologies, such as cyberphysical systems, the Internet of Things and the Internet of Services. The aim of this paper is to prove, on the basis of analysis of selected academic sources and examples from business practice, that Industry 4.0, as a global transformation of production and other business segments based on digitalization and the Internet, increasingly transforms existing supply chains into supply chains 4.0 and affects their business performance. There are three key parts of this paper. The first part presents the conceptual and business framework of Industry 4.0, as well as its dependence on certain digital technologies. The second part points to the business relevance of supply chains 4.0 and the...
Digital supply chain model in Industry 4.0
Journal of Manufacturing Technology Management, 2019
Purpose The purpose of this paper is to present a conceptual model that defines the essential components shaping the new Digital Supply Chains (DSCs) through the implementation and acceleration of Industry 4.0. Design/methodology/approach The scope of the present work exposes a conceptual approach and review of the key literature from 1989 to 2019, concerning the evolution and transformation of the actors and constructs in logistics and Supply Chain Management (SCM) by means of examining different conceptual models and a state-of-the-art review of Industry 4.0’s concepts and elements, with a focus on digitization in supply chain (SC) processes. A detailed study of the constructs and components of SCM, as defined by their authors, resulted in the development of a referential and systematic model that fuses the inherent concepts and roles of SCM, with the new technological trends directed toward digitization, automation, and the increasing use of information and communication technolo...
Industry 4.0 and digital supply chain capabilities
Benchmarking: An International Journal, 2019
PurposeThe Industry 4.0 phenomenon is bringing unprecedented disruptions for all traditional business models and hastening the need for a redesign and digitisation of activities. In this context, the literature concerning the digital supply chain (DSC) and its capabilities are in the early stages.
