Plants and BioEnergy, 2013
Abstract
The awareness of the depletion and contamination derived from fossil fuels and the resultant environmental crisis has led to the recognition of the necessity of research and development aiming the production of biofuels. An escalation of oil prices has been the outcome of political instabilities in areas of the world which traditionally have been massive petroleum providers, allied to oil deficits and economic crises. The present paper discusses the potentialities of palm species native to Brazil as feedstock of biodiesel.
