Latar belakang penelitian ini, kepala madrasah dalam kepemimpinan yang sesuai dengan situasi dalam rangka mempengaruhi, mengarahkan, memimbing kepada bawahan dengan cara memperkuat keyakinan, dukungan, dorongan dan kerjasama dalam rangka mencapai sasaran dan tujuan lembaga pendidikan. Dalam hal ini meningkatkan kinerja guru merupakan salah satu bentuk peran dari kepala madrasah untuk meningkatkan kualitas kerja tenaga kependidikan. Sehingga Tujuan penelitian ini adalah: (1) Untuk mengetahui bagaimana peran kepala madrasah dalam meningkatkan kinerja guru di Madrasah Aliyah Negeri Kupang, (2) Mengetahui hambatan-hambatan kepala madrasah dalam meningkatkan kinerja guru di Madrasah Aliyah Negeri Kupang. Hubungan Gaya Kepemimpinan Kepala Madrasah Dengan Kinerja Guru

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mencari tahu ada tidaknya hubungan antara kepemimpinan kepala madrasah dengan kinerja guru di MTs Daarul Mukhlishin Bahap. Sedangkan hipotesis yang diajukan dalam penelitian ini yaitu koefisien korelasi antara kepemimpian kepala madrasah (X) dengan kinerja guru (Y) di MTs Daarul Mukhlishin Bahap. Populasi dalam penelitian adalah tenaga pendidik 20 orang. Motede yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode penelitian kuantitatif. Hasil uji coba dari variabel X dari 20 item yang diuji cobakan terdapat 18 butir valid dan 3 butir tidak valid, yakni terdapat pada nomor 16 dan 18, dan untuk variabel kinerja guru dari 20 item yang diuji cobakan terdapat 17 butir valid dan 3 tidak valid yakni terdapat nomor 1,3 dan 19. This study was conducted in order to reveal the role of principal leadership on improving teacher’s performance. The data were obtained through interview, documentation and observation. An increase of teachers’ performance may also improve the quality of education and quality of teaching. To achieve eligibility standards and good performance, the school needs to be headed by a Principal whom qualified with extensive knowledge about the Leadership. A school principal is responsible for the educational organization, school administration, utilization and maintenance of facilities and infrastructure, and coaching educational personnel. No matter how perfect the teaching facility, otherwise when the headmaster as executor is unable to perform his duties as an educational leader, then the success of education in schools would be difficult to achieve.

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui dan menganalisis kepemimpinan kepala madrasah dalam peningkatan kemampuan guru dan prestasi belajar siswa di madrasah, penelitian menggunakan analisis kuantitatif, data dianalisis menggunakan analisis deskriptif dan analisis inferensial. Penelitian dilakukan di Madrasah Tsanawiyah Negeri Jakarta Selatan, penelitian dilakukan terhadap guru di Madrasah Tsanawiyah Negeri Jakarta Selatan. Dalam proses pembelajaran guru dipandang memiliki peran penting terutama dalam membantu peserta didik untuk mengembangkan potensinya dalam kemampuan kognitif, afektif dan psikomotor, guru juga berupaya untuk membangkitkan rasa ingin tahu, mendorong kemandirian dan ketepatan logika intelektual, serta menciptakan kondisi-kondisi untuk sukses dalam belajar. Kinerja guru dapat dilihat dan diukur berdasarkan spesifikasi/kriteria kompetensi yang harus dimiliki oleh setiap guru. dapat ditampilkan melalui penguasaan kompetensi pedagogik, profesional, kepribadian dan sosial. This paper aims to know and reveal the role of headmaster leadership in increasing teacher performance. The quality of headmaster leadership highly determines the good or bad performance of a teacher. However, actually, there are a number of factors inhibiting to meet the quality leadership of a headmaster, like low mentality of the headmaster which is indicated by low motivation and passion to improve the school, lack of insight, less brave to make a change, and numerous other factors that hamper the birth of professional headmaster to improve education quality. Teacher performance is not only influenced by his/her qualification and competence as a teacher but is also affected by other factors that take a role either directly or indirectly such as school culture. It takes cooperation, coordination, and mutual agreement to create a conducive school culture to actualize the goals and a better school quality.

This study aims to describe the Principal's Leadership in Improving Teacher Performance in SMA Negeri 11 Jambi and the supporting and inhibiting factors of the Principal's Leadership in Improving Teacher Performance in SMA Negeri 11 Jambi. This study used a qualitative descriptive study type case study. The subjects in this study were the Principal and Teachers. Data collection techniques in this study using observation, interviews and document study. Data analysis techniques are data reduction, data presentation and drawing conclusions. Meanwhile, the data validity test used triangulation technique. The results of this study indicate that: (1) Principal's Leadership in Improving Teacher Performance in SMA Negeri 11 Jambi is quite good at coaching teacher performance, monitoring teacher performance, providing motivation and evaluating teacher performance. Meanwhile, teacher performance is also quite good in preparing lesson plans, managing learning activities, and conducting learning evaluations. (2) The supporting factor is strong support and motivation from the principal. The inhibiting factors are the lack of LCD projector and internet network, the lack of the ability of teachers to manage classrooms and use various learning methods and the lack of teacher discipline. Based on the research results it is recommended that the principal make improvements and affirmation to the teacher so that the principal leadership process in improving teacher performance can then be carried out optimally.
