Development of Network Friendly Charging Methodology for Plugged in Hybrid Electric Vehicle(PHEV) in Microgrid (original) (raw)

2019 International Conference on Energy and Power Engineering (ICEPE)

Abstract

The introduction of electric vehicles has added a new dimension in modern transport system. Replacing the fossil-fuel based traditional vehicles and electrification of vehicles with the integration of improved smart electric grid assists to acquire an eco-friendly, unadulterated and livable global environment. Plugged in hybrid electric vehicle (PHEV) can be defined as a type of electric vehicle whose battery is recharged by plugging it to a charging station. For the proper utilization, it is necessary to handle the technical issues by an effective approach which was the actual purpose behind working on this paper. It is notable from the findings that there is a reduction in the grid loss amount while operating grid to vehicle (G2V) and vehicle to grid (V2G) systems simultaneously, it's also a challenging task for future to find out an appropriate algorithm for operating both G2V and V2G in the same bus at a time.
