Social Enterprise Incubators (SEIs) play a vital role in fostering social innovation and developing sustainable social enterprises in India. They differ from traditional Techno-Business Incubators by focusing on community engagement and addressing local issues through a Community-Incubation-Community approach. Despite their significance, SEIs face challenges related to sustainability, network access, and operational models. Current successful examples, such as the Deshpande Foundation and Grassroots Innovations Augmentation Network (GIAN), illustrate effective practices that can guide future incubator models aiming to strengthen the social innovation ecosystem.
