Abstract
This paper gives an overview of the Igehalkide and Shutrukide dynasties, studying the family relationships of the king Huteludush-Insusinak, to find out his true parentage (Silhak-Insusinak). We carry out a thorough examination of the texts involved to resolve the issue of Elamite incest, and conclude that it did not really exist. All this through new translations of these texts and of the Elamite terms sutu, sak, and ruhusak, to which a new dimension is given, which questions what has been previously published. Thereafter, we examine the relationships between both dynasties, concluding the dynastic union of both through the identification of the king author of the Berlin letter (Halludush-Insusinak), making a full presentation of the kings of both dynasties together with the way power transmitted in Elam (from father to son), without any woman taking part in it.
