Online Information Seeking Behavior among Indonesian during the COVID-19 Pandemic

Background: The COVID-19 vaccination movement in Indonesia until mid-2021 has still not reached the expected number, which is less than 20% of the Indonesian population who receive the first dose of vaccine. Meanwhile, the government's target for accelerating herd immunity is to achieve immunization coverage of 70% by November 2021. Several issues have arisen regarding the public's reluctance to accept the COVID-19 vaccine, such as vaccine readiness, efficacy, conspiracy, halal issues, and the negative side of this vaccine. Demography factors influencing Indonesian general knowledge on COVID-19

Pandemic COVID-19 is a health problem that is spread all over the world including Indonesia. As 4 June 2020, Indonesia has reached 28,818 persons confirmed COVID-19, 1,721 deaths related to COVID-19 and 8.892 patients have recovered from the disease. The amount of response and attention of the public regarding the COVID-19 case in Indonesia and the circulation of information in the community became the basis of interest in identifying and analyzing demography factors with general knowledge on COVID-19. Participants were 1,254 collected through online questionnaire distributed on social media platform, from February 5, 2020 to June 6, 2020. Data analyzed used Chi square test with significant <0.05. The result showed that majority of respondents have good general knowledge about COVID-19 and the personal prevention towards the disease (>75%). Nonetheless, most misinformation was that COVID-19 killed everyone contracted to it, came from a biological weapon laboratory, and that covering mouth and nose with bare hand is considered as correct coughing ethic. Characteristics that showed statistical significances were education, occupation, and educational/occupational background. Although Indonesian governments already give the best effort to educate the public to stop the transmission, an extensive educational health campaign should be done to raise awareness in public about preventive knowledge and behavior of COVID-19.

Knowledge, Attitude, and Behavior toward COVID-19 Prevention on Indonesian during Pandemic

AIM: The objective of the study was to know the sociodemographic factor related to the knowledge, attitude, and behavior toward COVID-19 prevention, during COVID-19 pandemic in Indonesia. METHODS: Research was conducted through observation with cross-sectional approach and samples were collected using snowball sampling. Research population was the general Indonesian. Questionnaire was used and distributed online for 4 days. Chi-square and regression were used for analysis. RESULTS: Questionnaire distributed was fulfilled completely by 1167 participants from 30 provinces. Gender has a negative correlation with participants’ attitudes and behavior in preventing COVID-19. Age and education were significantly related (p < 0.01) to COVID-19 knowledge and had a significant positive effect (p < 0.01) on attitude and behavior. Jakarta-Bogor-Depok-Tangerang-Bekasi (Jabodetabek) is the city with the most populous population in Indonesia. This study aims to explore the knowledge, attitude, and behaviour of Jabodetabek people as an epicentre covid-19 in Indonesia. This study was a descriptive quantitative online study with a survey design used a self-developed online questionnaire on 297 Jabodetabek residents in Indonesia. The chairman of the neighbourhood was encouraged to roll out the google form (link) to as many participants as possible, and then the link was forwarded to the next participants and so on. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics. Among the participants, 72.1 % were female, overall range of correct answers for knowledge questionnaire was 53.2-97.3%, that for attitude was 21.55-93.3% and for behaviors was 66.3-98.7 %. Determinants of COVID-19 Knowledge, Perception and Attitudes in Indonesia: A Cross-Sectional Survey

Many countries, including Indonesia, were gravely affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. While younger people were rarely severely affected by an infection, they still served as important spreaders of the disease. Therefore, the knowledge, perception and attitudes regarding COVID-19 of a mostly younger population was assessed in this study using a quantitative survey and semi-structured questionnaire. Out of 15 questions on COVID-19, males answered fewer questions (−1.26) correctly. Persons reporting more diseases in the last year (+0.49 per disease) that lived in a central area of Indonesia, and that had a better socio-economic status defined through household condition scores, had better knowledge of the symptoms, causes of and measures against COVID-19. COVID-19 Health Information-seeking Behavior in Timorese Society: A Phenomenological Study

This study aims to determine the media used in obtaining health information about COVID-19 and the reasons for choosing the media. The theory used is Information-seeking Behavior. This research is qualitative with the phenomenological method. The informants were 38 people who were selected based on the purposive sampling technique. Data collection was carried out utilizing in-depth interviews, observation, and documentation. The data analysis technique is Creswell’s data analysis in phenomenological research. The results showed that the media used to find health information about COVID-19 were printed mass media (newspapers, magazines, and tabloids), electronic media (television, radio), and internet media. Meanwhile, choosing the media was due to the ease of accessing existing media and the diversity of information obtained.
