Abstract

The objective of this study was to analyze the relationship between the rules in force in each state of the Brazilian Legal Amazon with the advancement of the creation of non-native species, proximity to compliance with the SDG (Sustainable Development Objective) 15 and the possible impacts on the local biota. The research focused on the case study of Oreochromis niloticus and considered: 1) current legislation available on regulations regarding the creation of the non-native species Oreochromis niloticus and considered: 1) the current legislation published in the Official Daily of the states that make up the Legal Amazon (Acre, Amapa, Amazonas, Para, Rondonia, Roraima, Tocantins and parts of Maranhao and Mato Grosso) and the provisions of federal legislation; 2) the total number and production of O. niloticus fish farms by state, published in the 2020 Annual Report of PEIXE BR and data from the Agricultural Census in 2017 (IBGE, 2017).
