Abstract
This paper is the final part of a trilogy, on updating of the Post War concept of a therapeutic community for the 21st Century - and era of community care, public health, and increasuing cioncern over the mental health of the population at large. The first paper introduced the concept of a "psychogically informed environment;"in homelessness and criminal justice settings; the second introduced the wider framework of the Royal College of Psychiatrists' "enabling environments" programme; and this third paper relates these emerging ideas to contemporary community care and public health concerns, such as social inclusion policies, social capital, and the "Big Society".
