For many years Sassanid Empire has been attracting a continuing popularity of scientists from around the world. It is examined by historians as a powerful element of the geopolitical puzzle Eurasia during the period of late antiquity, and the orientalists who study the history and culture of Iran in the period before the birth of Islam. Nevertheless, it should be noticed that there are very little monographies about the Empire and the exciting works are very deactualised. The first general considerations on the history of Iran in the period before Islam were taken by researchers in the 19 th century. Rawlinson and Voux created works of the crucial importance. 1 With the development of archaeological research conducted in Iran in the 30s and 40s of the 20 th century when the interest of great Sassan's descendants were arising. The result of this research was quoted by many researchers all over the world work by Christiansen. 2 The subsequent monographs were written only in the 80s and 90s of the 20 th century by Frey and the third volume of the monumental history of Iran issued by the University of Cambridge and the monograph Chegini and Nikitin. 3 In the first decade of the 21 st century the monograph on the history of Iran's Sassanid wrote Daryaee. 4 The Mochalov's and Polezhaev's work is a synthetic attempt to present the history of Iran in that period. The book issued by the Lomonosov's publishing house in a series of monographs "History / Geography / Ethnography" presents a very concise picture of the history of the Sassanid state. The recipient becomes encouraged by simple language, linear narrative, lack of problematic chapters and an excellent selection of sources fragments presented in the form of an annex. The authors did not avoid minor mistakes, however they not decrease cognitive value especially for the reader for whom this book would be the first encounter with this subject. Michael Mochalov is a historian interested in the Middle East in ancient times. His current research interests were focused on the development and decline of the Neo-Assyrian monarchy, which he has devoted two books so far. 5 In his works he is trying to focus on the political history of the ancient powers.

As Christianity developed in the western regions of Iran during the Sasanian period, a large minority of Christians was formed in this border region. As a consequence of the religious alignment of the Roman Empire from the 4th century AD, followed by Byzantium with Christians, the Sassanid government considered the Christians in these areas as an influential factor in weakening the structure of the Sassanid government, despite the fact that they were Christian; as a result of the often dark political relations between the Iranian and Byzantine governments, Christians in western Iran were able to gain a special place in history by participating in the political and religious relations between both governments. Furthermore, their close relationship with the Sassanid court helped preserve Christianity in western Iran until Sassanid rule ended. Hence, the present study examines religious developments in the West and how they affect relations with the Sassanid government of Iran, along with how Christianity spread during the Parthian period and how religious centers influenced its expansion in the Sassanid era. This study also discusses the independence of the Iranian Church from the Byzantine state church, the dispersion of Christians in western Iran and the establishment of their church in the highlands, the internal differences among Iranian Christians, and the factors contributing to the stability of Christianity in Iran's western regions until the end of the Sasanian period. Along with the work of foreign researchers and Christian chroniclers of the first century AD, the works of Islamic historians and writers are also considered in this study. Using a descriptive-analytical approach, this historical research analyzes data collected from written sources.

Pre-publication of chapter X of my forthcoming book "Turkey is Iran and Iran is Turkey – 2500 Years of indivisible Turanian–Iranian Civilization distorted and estranged by Anglo-French Orientalists"; chapters VI, VII, VIII, IX and X form Part Three (Turkey and Iran beyond Politics and Geopolitics: Rejection of the Orientalist, Turcologist and Iranologist Fallacies about Achaemenid History) of the book, which is made of 12 parts and 33 chapters. Until now, 14 chapters have been uploaded as partly pre-publication of the book; the present chapter is therefore the 15th (out of 33). At the end of the present pre-publication, the entire Table of Contents is made available. Pre-published chapters are marked in blue color, and the present chapter is highlighted in green color. In addition, a list of all the already pre-published chapters (with the related links) is made available at the very end, after the Table of Contents. The book is written for the general readership with the intention to briefly highlight numerous distortions made by the racist, colonial academics of Western Europe and North America only with the help of absurd conceptualization and preposterous contextualization. -------------------------------- First published on 16th August 2023 here: https://megalommatiscomments.wordpress.com/2023/08/16/iranian-and-turanian-religions-in-pre-islamic-iran/
