Abstract

There is growing use of information technology (IT) infrastructures for better management decisions. The present study attempted to investigate the importance of IT infrastructures on organization's competitive advantage to analyze the relationships among IT infrastructures, organizational agility, and competitive advantages in life Insurance Corporation in India. Drawing on the literature it was hypothesized that IT infrastructures was major source of competitive advantage. This research proposed a conceptual framework to examine the importance of IT infrastructures for competitive advantages. The model also examined how organizational agility mediated the effects of IT infrastructures on organization's competitive advantage. So, survey data were collected by appropriate questionnaire and interview. The results obtained by several appropriate tests supported the research hypotheses that IT infrastructure was significant source of competitive advantages; and organizational agility mediated the effects of IT infrastructures on competitive advantage of the organization.
