Background and Study Aim: Combat sports are characterised by a high dynamics of activities. One of the unwanted elements of the training process are injuries. The aim of this study was the knowledge about the body type of persons practising judo in accordance with Wanke’s typology and to specify injuries that are characteristic of individual body types of athletes. Material and Methods: The study was conducted on a group of men being members of the Junior Polish National Team. They included 29 athletes aged 17-19 years, representing various weight categories at judo competitions. The minimum experience of the subjects was 5 years. Another qualifying criterion was a medal at the Polish Junior, Youth or Senior Championships. Anthropometric measurements were carried out for the purpose of determining the somatic build. The aim of this paper was to study a number of 34 athletes practicing different kinds of sports activities, in order to determine whether they have developed a certain spine deficiency and if there is any association between the type of sports they practice and the postural changes they develop. Methods: In this study we have enrolled 12 members of the men’s volleyball team of the “West University of Timisoara”, 9 members of the men’s football team ASU Politehnica Timișoara, and 13 members of the men’s basketball team BC SCM Timișoara. Postural analysis was carried out with the Zebris CMS-10 from the mechatronics department of the Politehinca University Timisoara, a device that determines the spatial coordinates of the spinous processes. Nowadays, the study of kinanthropometric parameters is an important tool for both early talent selection and for evaluating the efficacy of a training program. This study aimed to determine the anthropometric characteristics, body composition indicators and somatotype components of individual (athletics, swimming and triathlon), collective (handball and volleyball) and fight (karate and taekwondo) sportsmen and sportswomen from the Valencian Sports Technification Centre. This study involved a total of 62 men and 56 women, they were divided in three subgroups, including individual (athletics, swimming and triathlon), collective (handball and volleyball) and fight (karate and taekwondo) sports. The assessment was carried out according to the one established by the International Society for Advancement of Kinanthropometry (ISAK). For men, the highest value of femur breath, ectomorphy and medial calf and front thigh skinfolds are obtained for triathletes, athletics, volleyball and karate, respectively. The highest values of triceps, biceps and abdominal skinfolds, relaxed arm girth, endomorphy and body fat percentage are shown for taekwondo, while the other highest values are obtained with handball. For women, the highest value of ectomorphy is obtained for athletics. The identified kinanthropometric parameters are useful when comparing between sports and sports subgroups for the selection of subjects and to help in their performance assessment.
Comparison of posture between gymnasts and non-athletes

The aim of this study was to determine the difference in the postural status of the spine of school children who engage in gymnastics and their peers who do not engage in sports.Postural disorders occur in people who are not involved in sports, and in athletes also. The incidence of postural disorders is most common in children during critical periods of growth and deve lopment. The sample consisted of 97 primary school students from Novi Sad, Futog and Rumenka, aged 11 and 12. One group was consisted of students who engage in gymnastics more than three years, and othe r group consisted of students who are not engaged in sports. To determine the postural status it was us ed the modified method of Napoleon Wolanski. A COMPARATIVE STUDY OF KINANTHROPOMETRIC MEASUREMENTS OF BOXING AND JUDO PLAYERS
The main purpose of the study was to compare the kin- anthropometric variables of height, weight, arm length, lean body mass and body fat of boxing and judo players of Haryana. The data were collected from the boxing and judo centers from Jind, Hissar, Sirsa, Rohtak and Bhiwani. The researcher had selected 40 male (20 boxers + 20 judokas) subjects for this study. The subjects were randomly selected for the purpose of the study. In this study the equipment which was used for data collection were stadiometer, weighing machine, anthropometric rod and skinfold caliper. The ‘t’ test was used to analyzed the data. The findings of the study revealed that (i) The Boxer have more height than judokas; (ii) There was no significant difference in body weight between boxer and judo players; (iii) Boxer have more arm length than judokas; (iv) There was no significant difference in body fat between boxer and judo players; (v) Boxer have more lean body mass than judokas.

Anthropometric characteristics aim to improve the performance in many sports. Morphological status of top athletes is relatively homogeneous, depending on the sport, and can be defi ned as a pattern for the achievements of athletes (Misigoj-Duraković, Matković, &Medved, 1995). Somatotype refl ects the overall appearance of the human body and gives meaning to the total morphological status of the human body (Ross, Ward, Leahy, & Day 1982). Our research was conducted with the main objective to identify the differences in anthropometric characteristics somatotype and some basic motor skills in karate and non-athletes. The research was conducted on 100 male subjects 17-18 years, karate (50) and non-athletes (50). The purpose of this study is to defi ne the differences in anthropometric characteristics, somatotypes and basic motor skills in karate and non-athletes. The pattern of the anthropometric measures is defi ned by ISAK (International Society for the Advancement of Kinanthropmetry), except the variables: body mass index (BMI), body fat percentage (BF %) and lean body mass (ALBM), which are calculated according to the methodology During Womerslay, while the variable (HWR) derives from the software program somatotype 1.2, the pattern of motor skill is defi ned by battery of Eurofi t testing. For determining the differences between the two groups of respondents, a t-test for independent samples is applied, while the evaluation of the somatotypes was done according to the methodology by Heath-Carter with 10 anthropometric measurements. Based on the obtained results of measurements from both groups respondents, was proved that there are no statistically signifi cant differences in anthropometric measures. Based on our study, while in karate we found balanced mesomorph somatotype 3.07-4.28-2.85 in non-athletes we fi nd endomorphic mesomorph somatotype 3.47-4.96-2.67. Statistically signifi cant differences on the components of somatotypes exist at mesomorph component. Differences in the motor skill were found in favor of karate athletes.
PHYSIOLOGICAL, MOTORIC AND ANTHROPOMETRICAL PROFILE OF YOUNG ELITE SLOVAK JUDOKAS
The aim of this study was to discovered and consequently identify physiological, motoric and anthropometrical profile of young elite Slovak judokas. For this purpose we select 8 male judokas, representing Slovakia this year at the age of 18 in different international competitions. The following tests and measurements were conducted: (a) Sterkowicz judo fitness test (SJFT); (b) test of maximal strength power by bench-press and Australian dumbbell pull; (c) skinfold thickness; (d) anaerobic power and capacity using of Wingate test for upper limbs; and (e) VO2max by running on treadmill. After the end of the SJFT, Wingate test and VO2 max test we executed blood lactate measurements. Moreover by these three tests we followed heart rate (HR).
