Smartphone Addiction among the higher secondary School Students
This study explores the prevalence of smartphone addiction among higher secondary school students in the Chennai and Thiruvalluvar regions of Tamil Nadu, India. The researchers employed a normative survey method to gather data, utilizing an online gaming addiction tool designed specifically for this investigation. The sample for the study comprised 780 higher secondary school students, and the collected data were analyzed using mean, standard deviation (S.D), and 't' value statistics. The findings of this research indicate that, on average, smartphone addiction among higher secondary school students is prevalent. Interestingly, the level of smartphone addiction showed a significant difference based on gender, suggesting that there may be variations in usage patterns and dependency among male and female students. However, the study did not find significant differences in smartphone addiction when comparing students from different localities within Chennai and Thiruvalluvar, implying that the issue is widespread across the studied regions.

Smart phone can cause numerous problems including depression and anxiety which all leads to severe mental problems. The aim of study was to assess co-relation between smart phone addiction, depression and association between selected demographic variables among adolescents in selected schools of Dehradun. Methodology: The quantitative research approach and non-experimental descriptive research design was used for the study. A total 150 adolescents from selected schools of Dehradun, Uttarakhand were selected through non-probability convenience sampling technique. The serious crisis that currently concerns the entire planet extends beyond the daily social, cultural, economic, and other disputes. These were set aside in order to move to a global alert, which refers to the pandemic problem that is affecting every country on the planet. Because confinement compelled individuals all over the world to stay at home, electronic communications became increasingly important. The objective of this study is not to investigate the pandemic epidemic; rather, it is to investigate how students use their cell phones, to see if this has resulted in addiction, and to discover if usage differs between boys and girls. A. Velayudhan and S. Srividya created the Mobile Phone Addiction Scale. The questionnaires used in this study were created in 2012 and revalidated by the investigator in 2021. A total of 75 boys and 75 girls from Chennai's XI standard were included in the study. Three higher secondary schools were chosen using a basic random sampling technique. The data was analysed using descriptive statistics such as mean, standard deviation, and the 't' test. The major findings of the study were i) There is a significant difference in mobile phone addiction between boys and girls in higher secondary school ii) There will be no significant difference in mobile phone addiction between nuclear family and joint family students of higher secondary school.

Results :Findings of the study revealed that majority 59.33% adolescents have moderately addicted to smartphone, 34.7% were mildly addicted and 6% were severely addicted to smart phone and 50.7% adolescents were having moderate depression, 27.3% mild depression, 11.3% severe depression and 10.7% adolescents were minimal depression. Co-relation was +0.634 which indicate there is a positive moderate relation between smartphone addiction and depression of adolescents. Chi-square revealed association among smart phone addiction and depression with selected demographic variables. Conclusion These findings support the importance of establishing intervention strategies designed to decrease depression of students to help them prevent Smart phone addiction.
Technology becomes a part of the human life and it has significantly changed cultural norms of behavior of individuals. One of the popular applications of the technology is the smartphone and it has affected work of students' behavior. Therefore, the objective of this study is to identify the factors influencing the smartphone addiction among school children of the North Central province in Sri Lanka. A well administrated questionnaire is prepared based on the previous literature with constructs of Usefulness, Loneliness, Family Income Level, Gender and Addiction to Smart Phone. 140 respondents were selected using purposive sampling technique for data collection and analysis indicates that all the independent variables positively affect the addiction to smart phone. Loneliness and gender of students is having higher impact on the addiction. The advancement of technology severs to the growth of the children's educations, but parents have to place much attention to the use of technology by their children because addiction of smartphone would reduce their children's academic performance. The addiction of technology such as smartphones would be reduced when students are trained to think rationally from their childhood.

Introduction: A smartphone is a combination of cellphone and handheld computers that created the greatest tech revolution since the Internet. The official name for smartphone addiction is Nomophobia which is defined as having a fear of not being with your phone. This study aimed to examine at Smartphone addiction characteristics, and also the predictive factors of the Smartphone addiction at school students in Bangladesh. This study explores the use and role of smart phones among adolescence in Bangladeshi school students. Four main categories are used to examine the students' mobile phone use: reasons to use mobile phones, model of mobile phone use, duration to use Smartphone, and psychometric behaviourrelated issues. It is evident from this study that mobile phone effects on adolescence. The numbers of data for this study have been collected both from primary and secondary sources of information. A total of 1000 participants were preferred to complete a set of questionnaires, including the Smartphone Addiction Inventory Scale SPAI the in the Bengali and English language both. SPSS 22 was used to descriptive and factor analyses, t-tests and correlation analyses were conducted to verify the reliability and validity of the SPAI. Bartlett's test of sphericity was significant (p <0.001), and the Kaiser-Mayer-Olkin measure of sampling adequacy for the SPAI was 0.94, indicating meritoriously that the factor analysis was appropriate. The internal consistency and concurrent validity of the SPAI were verified (Cronbach's alpha = 0.973).There were 694 males and 306 females with ages ranging from 10 to 18years old (M-16.2 Male, M-16.8 Female) included in this study. According to the Smartphone Addiction Proneness Scale scores, 296 (29.6%) were classified as a risk group for Smartphone addiction and 714 (71.4%) were recognized as a standard user group. The risk group for Smartphone addiction used a Smartphone for an average of 5 hour per day, which was 1 hour longer than that of the normal user group. This difference was statistically significant (χ2= 14.017, p≤ 0.001). The most frequently used SNSs were Facebook Messenger (10.4%) and Web media surfing 67.1% which is significant factor.
Impact of Excessive Usage of Smartphone in Kids
Excess of anything leave negative impact so is the excessive use of smartphone effected health of kids. This research presents usage and impact of smartphone in kids. To analyze addiction and impact of smartphone on kids' health, this study focused on three different age groups in particular. From literature we choose sleep deprivation, anxiety/depression and social interaction as primary health issue to study under this research. We conducted an experiment on 1500 school going kids and asked them to fill a survey having several questions on usage of smartphones. Results shown addiction of smartphone in most of the kids while dividing addiction in three levels; low, average and high. Results revealed 737 kids use smartphone at low level addiction, 454 kids use smartphone at average level and 352 kids found in the addiction of smartphone usage. Kids with high level of smartphone addiction have found to sleep depreciated, had anxiety and social issues. On major issue discovered was social anxiety which kids shown having social gatherings and even uncomfortable in communication with family and parents.

Backgound: Smartphone addiction is an individual's dependence on using a smartphone repeatedly and excessively, regardless of the negative consequences it causes.
