The development of the use of gadgets in Indonesia is growing rapidly, the number of gadget users ranging from adults to children. The purpose of this study was to determine the comparison of emotional development between addictive and non-addictive gadgets in children aged 10-12 years. The research method is a quantitative research and uses an analytical descriptive design with a case control approach. The sampling technique in this study used a nonprobability sampling technique with the Issac Michael formula and the results obtained with a total of 106 samples. Data was collected by distributing questionnaires and observation. Data analysis using Mann Whitney Test. The results showed that the results of statistical tests of emotional development between addiction and not addiction to gadgets found p-value = 0.155 (> 0.05). This conclusion shows that there is no comparison of emotional development between addictive and non-addictive gadgets for children aged 10-12 years. Suggestions are needed to increase parental attention in every phase of child development, especially the emotional development of children aged 10-12 years and parents are able to identify the positive and negative effects of using gadgets on children's emotional development.
