Analysis of Archives Management at Universitas Pendidikan Ganesha

The purpose of this research is to determine the Universitas Pendidikan Ganesha (Undiksha) archivist's archive management in terms of planning, organization, direction, and supervision. This study was designed using a qualitative approach to achieve these goals. Informants were interviewed and data documentation was obtained from the Undiksha archivist to obtain information about research data. The informants in this study are part of the Undiksha archives. To ensure the validity of the data in this study, data triangulation techniques such as source triangulation, method triangulation, and theoretical triangulation were used. According to the findings of this study, Undiksha archivists performed excellent archive management functions, beginning with planning, organizing, directing, and managing. Each aspect of management has been carried out in accordance with the plan using a defined and measurable process. Digital archive management has also been carried out correctly in accordance with established procedures.

Information Management in Special Archives of Kolkata: A Case Study

Archives are the important information centre along with libraries and museums in respect to preservation of historical documents. And similar to libraries archives also exist in different categories like academic, special, governmental, newspaper and private archives. This article is dealing with one of this category and that is Special Archives. The research area that has been chosen for the data collection is central part of Kolkata. These archives are being studied to know how they are organising the documents and preserving them for future posterity. Finally, the paper tries to highlight the problems these traditional archives are facing in this digital era, especially handling of documents for digitising the archival materials. The problems are mainly related to skills and financial support for digitising the archival documents.

Archive Management in the Digital Age: Development of Village Administration Systems

This study aims to produce a website-based village administration system in Malang Regency which tested for feasibility by validator and tested effectiveness by village officials. This type of research is Research and Development which consists of eight steps, namely Potential and Problem, Data Collection, Product Design, Design Validation, Design Revision, Product Testing, Product Revision, and Final Production. This research uses quantitative and qualitative data. The results of this study that the product has a feasibility level with category "Very Good" and after through trial phase, respondent declares effective and agrees if village administration system is implemented in the village office.

Constructing an E-Archive System and Its Role in Improving Document Management

A Traditional document is a written or printed paper that bears different kind of information about the organization activities e.g. legal, managerial, etc. Nowadays mainly there are two types of documents, which will be referred to as traditional (paper) documents and digital (electronic) documents. This discrimination between the types of documents in additional to the advances in the field of computer applications, networking, internet, and other digital processing tools were good motivations to use the Electronic - Archiving Systems (EAS). E-archiving is one of the first steps toward creating electronic environment on which e-government is based. There are a lot of risks and limitations of using traditional archiving systems which nowadays are not suitable to be used in organizations. This paper is a study of the archiving systems in both formats, traditional and electronic. The advantages and limitations of Electronic Archiving Systems (EAS) have been discussed briefly. A comparison between both electronic and traditional systems has been carried out as well. Traditional documents definition and digital (electronic) documents has been presented in additional to the methods of converting traditional (paper) documents into digital ones which is called the digitization process was discussed also. A brief description and the phases of constructing an e-archiving system has been proposed and discussed briefly. Finally, the cost feasibility of constructing an e-archive or converting a traditional archive into an electronic one has been studied in two aspects; long term coast and short term coast aspects.

Preservation Of Archives: A Case Study Of Bangladesh National Archives

Now-a-days, while a mature system of preservation and conservation (PAC) technology and methodology exists world wide to achieve the systematic PAC of world's cultural heritage, the PAC programs of Bangladesh National Archives (the custodian of Bangladesh Government's records) have excluded the same provisions to sustain the usable life of it's resources. In this circumstance, this study seeks to articulate the current PAC status of archives in Bangladesh National Archives, and examine the barriers that have hindered the development of full-fledged PAC program for them. Finally some recommendations have been put forward at the consideration of Bangladesh National Archives so that it can employ the minimum technologies for proper care of its resources and become gradually able to adopt latest technologies for the preservation of manual archives together with the development of a national digital repository of archives.

Archive Management Analysis in Secondary School

Archiving is all activities relating to the management of archives, both official and private archive. This study aims to determine the implementation of records management at secondary school. In this study, there are five indicators, namely, receipt of the archive, archival storage, maintenance and security of the archive, as well as depreciation of the archive, and destruction of records. The research method applied in this study is descriptive qualitative. Data collection techniques used are observation, interview, and documentation. Five informants participated in this study. Analysis of the data used is an interactive model and the techniques in analyzing data are by performing data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The exponential growth of data, which occurs every day, can wreak havoc on records management. The more data, the more important the data collection process. It is very important to have reliable records management so that the records management process can run well. Information technology is one solution that can be used. Archive management using information technology is a method that allows archives to be easily organized according to their purpose and search. Information technology-based archive applications are very useful in terms of archive administration and the process of sharing archives with other units. The purpose of this study is to see how effective the use of information technology is in managing archives at the Ministry of Religion Office of Lhokseumawe City. Qualitative descriptive technique was used in this study, with data collection through interviews or conversations, as well as literature study. The results of this study indicate that the use of information systems in archive management, as well as the use of technology in archive management at the Office of the Ministry of Religion of Lhokseumawe City, is very useful and effective. Network constraints and the lack of human resources at the Office of the Ministry of Religion of Lhokseumawe City are one of the obstacles to its management.
