School-Home SEEDS OF LIFE

The program includes three lines of project development: 1. Development of the Logical Framework Matrix of the situation in Nepal All projects tend to be a concrete contribution to the total solution. That is, they provide a partial solution. A program is made of two or more projects. Its function is to comprehensively solve the problem (or at least, in the largest possible way). Very complex problems may need two or more programs (and each of them with their respective projects). We check how the systemic approach works, detect and study the problem as a whole. With that data we analyse the different parts of the problem. Face the solutions in a comprehensive framework. In other words, we study the whole, analyse the parts of the whole and structure a harmonious set of programmes and projects that combined would allow us to access a global solution. In the case of Project Seeds of Life’s initiative it is called program of support for children in Nepal, and includes a set of project focused on issues of health, education, agricultural work, school to subsistence and development of social competence in children who have lost their family environment.

Shodh-Prabha, 2023

The Almond Tree by Michelle Cohen Corasanti is a compelling novel that unfolds against the backdrop of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. Through the eyes of Ichmad Hamid, a young Palestinian boy with an unquenchable thirst for knowledge, the story delves into themes of resilience, identity, and the transformative power of education. In the face of adversity and discrimination, Ichmad's journey is a testament to the enduring human spirit, offering readers a deeply personal and thought-provoking exploration of the complexities and human stories that lie at the heart of this enduring conflict. Education and Hope in Michelle Cohen Corasanti's The Almond Tree explores the central theme of resilience and empowerment through the lens of education in the novel. Set in the turbulent backdrop of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, the story follows Ichmad Hamid, a young Palestinian boy, whose relentless pursuit of education becomes a beacon of hope in the face of adversity. This paper delves into how education serves as a powerful tool for Ichmad and his family, offering them a chance to transcend their challenging circumstances and carve out a better future. It will also analyse the transformative impact of education on the characters and how it underscores the novel's overarching message of hope, even in the most challenging of circumstances.

The tree of hope

This paper is written with the main aim of creating a project to be carried in primary/low secondary school in the Foreign Language classroom. It is intended to combine environment as a global issues and literature in order to make children conscious of their vision of environment and to confront with other visions and cultures. For this reason two groups of children from different culture and nationalities should communicate and share ideas and finally cooperate to make a useful service within the community. This paper is divided into 3 parts: In the first part I will analyze the theories that are on the basis of the projects with some reference to their recent developments. In particular the notion of Intercultural Citizenship, created by Micheal Byram, will be taken into account. After recognized the learning objectives necessary, I will explain the activities that can be used in foreign language classroom step by step and explain how they achieve Intercultural Communication and Criticality.

Learn & Grow: An Educational Garden for the Boys & Girls Club

This project came from an interest of linking architecture and healthy eating through the design and construction of an educational garden at the local Boys & Girls Club. They had an existing garden that was sitting unused and it became an opportunity, not just to improve on the garden to make it more useful, but also to introduce the children at the Boys & Girls Club to the impact of architecture on their lives.
