Job Stress during COVID – 19 Pandemic among Teaching and Non – Teaching Employees Working in Constituent Colleges of L. N. Mithila University, India

The present inquiry was aimed at studying the job stress and its stressors during COVID-19 pandemic among teaching and non-teaching employees working in constituent colleges of L. N. Mithila University, Darbhanga, India. For the present study total sample consisted of one hundred fifty employees (N=150) comprising teaching (n=75) and nonteaching (n=75) which were selected by contacting online on mobile, whats App, facebook and Google mail during COVID-19 pandemic. Data collected through questionnaire schedules using Occupational Stress Index (OSI) developed by Singh and Srivastava (1981). Having collected the data on each item of the index, data were tabulated according to procedures and norms of the OSI for giving statistical treatment. Results revealed the fact that significant difference have been found in terms of total occupational stress between the group of teaching and non-teaching employees during pandemic, whereas, seven dimensions / stressors of occupational stress out of twelve, namely, Role overload, Role ambiguity, Role conflict, Unreasonable group and political pressure, Responsibility for persons, Under participation and Strenuous working conditions have also been emerged as the predictors of occupational stress between the group of teaching and non-teaching employees during COVID-19 pandemic. It is interestingly to note that non-teaching employees were found more prone to job stress during COVID-19 pandemic than the teaching employees while working in constituent colleges of LNMU. The discrepancy of results obtained has been discussed in detail by highlighting the probable reasons.

This study aims to determine the extent to which employees experience Work Stress, coupled with the Covid-19 Pandemic that is hitting Indonesia. Impact Of Covid-19 On Employees' Stress

Background : The word stress is derived from the Latin word "stringi",which means , "to be drawn tight". In medical terms stress is described as ," a physical or psychological stimulus that can produce mental tension or physiological reactions that may lead to illness." Covid 19 outbreak adversely affected each and every individual around the globe. There are dramatic change happened in case of employment .Employee and employer are forced to accept the new changes. The changes in work space and work mode are the examples for these changes. The study mainly focused on employees stress in the second wave. Materials and Methods : In this study the researcher collected data on stress relating to respondents financial insecurities, mental health, physical health, and view about covid 19 protocol. In order to collect the data a web based survey is conducted. For analyzing the data statistical tools like ANOVA Test is used. Result: The major findings of this study are most of the employee's lies between low and medium stress level. Male employees are more stressed than female employees. There is a significant difference in the stress score of employees according to the different age group, number of children and number of dependents. The social media and social distancing has influence in employees stress. Conclusion: The employees are familiar with new work environment in the second wave. But still they are stressed to manage the work. The organization has to develop coping strategies for handling work related stress. Physical and mental health is important for higher productivity.

A sequential explanatory mixed method study to assess the stress and coping strategies among working members during Covid 19 pandemic in selected private health science institutions at Coimbatore

The study was conducted in two phases using sequential explanatory mixed method, in order to understand the stressful situations and stress coping strategies among working members during covid 19 pandemic. A total of 50 participants who were working in private health science institutions were selected using convenient sampling in Phase I and in phase II, 5 samples were selected using purposive sampling. Structured Questionnaire was used in Phase I and unstructured open ended questions by using an in-depth focus interview in Phase II. The study reveals that majority of the participants 80% had moderate level of stress and 72.5% were partially able to cope up the stress situation and had negative correlation between stress and coping strategies. The study concluded that financial crisis, lifestyle, changes in work environment are the major areas of stress at the covid pandemic and adapted various coping strategies such as financial management and life style changes influenced the participants to reduce stress level.

STRESS AND QUALITY OF LIFE OF THE EMPLOYEES OF SAINT JOSEPH INSTITUTE OF TECHNOLOGY IN THE POST-COVID-19 SITUATION

This study examined the perceived stress levels and the quality of work life among employees at Saint Joseph Institute of Technology in the aftermath of the COVID-19 outbreak. Using standardized tools, the study evaluated the degree of stress experienced by employees and their quality of life based on their job positions. The findings revealed that heads of offices and deans have a moderate level of perceived stress, with a mean score of 16.00, but indicated a high WRQoL, with a mean score of 86.50. The faculty perceived their stress level as moderate, with a mean score of 18.93, and their WRQoL was high, with a mean score of 84.57. The office staff reported a moderate to a high level of perceived stress with a mean score of 20, while their work-related quality of life (WRQoL) was rated as high with a mean score of 83.29. Overall, the study reveals that both the faculty and the heads of offices/deans experienced a moderate degree of perceived stress and high quality of work life. In contrast, the office staff experienced higher levels of stress but still maintained a high quality of work life.

A STUDY ABOUT ATTITUDE REGARDING OCCUPATIONAL STRESS AMONG ARTS AND SCIENCE COLLEGE TEACHERS DURING COVID 19

The study mainly focuses on occupational stress faced by self financing arts and science colleges. The questionnaire method is used to determine the demographic variables and to know about attitude of teachers. This article is mainly related to occupational stress about their work performance among teachers of self-financing (respondents). This research has used purposive sampling technique as method to collect the data from respondents. And data has been collected among 100 respondents to analyze. The collected data has been analyzed by using SPSS software and interpreted. The data has been interpreted by using various tools like percentage analysis and correlation. The simple percentage analysis mainly concentrated by means of designation like assistant professor and associate professor. This research is suggesting institutions to encourage the teachers and also want to make them to reduce their stress factors. So the outcome defines that they are feeling very stressful with work from home basis because they don't have certain facilities regarding power or by means of equipments. Hence, institutions should provide with the basic things need for the teachers.

Stress Among Fresh Graduate Students During Covid 19

This paper details the study of the degree of stress level among fresh graduate students (Session 2019-2020) because of COVID 19, and the differences in the perception of their stress level based on their gender. The paper also discusses the differences in the level of stress in graduates with varied employment-related status in terms of a job offer, enrollment in higher studies, self-employment, or others. Participants in the study were newly graduate students (Session 2019-2020) (60 females and 66 males) between the ages of 18-24. It was found that final year/graduating students are stressed because of Covid19 but there is no significant difference in perception of stress between male and female students i.e. both of them were found to be equally stressed during the study period. However, a significant difference is found in the level of stress based on the employment-related status of the student.

Impact of Stress on work interm on COVID 19

Background: increase in stress among workforce is common phenomenon during emergency days. COVID-19 created a scenario which increased the stress level among health workers in Pakistan. The aim of this study to measure the impact of stress on the workforce due to Corona Virus Disease in Pakistan. Methods: Quantitative research and cross-sectional study was done which included a sample size of (N=710) by using convenient sampling from Health workers across the country. A pre-validated questionnaire is used to collect data for the assortment of data from Google Performa via email for results and analysis of the study. The current study used an analysis method ranging from descriptive analysis, reliability analysis, and regression analysis. The data has been analyzed through Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS) version SPSS-20. Findings: The study results show that the stress in the workforce is positively and significantly (P<.05) related to the COVID pandemic.

Occupational stress and psychological wellbeing is a function of virtual teaching and faculty performance during COVID-19 pandemic: An empirical study with reference to higher academic faculty in around Hyderabad city

The author reports the results of an empirical study on Occupational Stress and Psychological Wellbeing on the Faculty of Higher Education, and its effect on Virtual Teaching and performance. The data gathered using google forms from the Engineering and Management faculty in and around Hyderabad Higher educational institutes. The research instrument, a structured questionnaire, completed by 400 faculty members of the Engineering and Management faculty of Higher Educational Institutes in and around Hyderabad. The data was gathered using a 5-point Likert Type scale to measure the faculty performance, occupational stress, and virtual teaching factors, whereas the psychological well-being of the faculty is measured using a 7-point scale. The response from the 7-point psychological well-being scale was converted into a 5-point Likert-type scale using linear transformations.
