This study focuses on the application of AI in architecture, specifically in the phases of design, construction, and operation. In the realm of architectural design, AI is prominently used to provide automated design recommendations through the use of architectural design software. These recommendations are generated based on existing building data, expediting the design process and yielding time and cost savings. Furthermore, AI reduces human errors in the design process, thereby enhancing design quality. Additionally, AI can assist in selecting the materials required for a building during the design phase. It can also recommend energy-saving measures for a building during this stage, contributing to sustainability efforts. AI finds various applications in the construction phase as well. Firstly, AI systems can analyze data collected through sensors during the construction project to estimate the progress and the expected completion time. Secondly, AI aids in implementing safety measures during construction projects, enhancing worker safety. Moreover, it can ensure that construction workers use safety equipment correctly. Smart buildings, designed and managed with the use of AI technology, are an emerging trend. In these buildings, AI systems automate various processes, leading to more efficient building management. AI technology can be applied in various ways within smart buildings, further improving their efficiency. In conclusion, AI has been employed in the field of architecture for quite some time. However, until about 15 years ago, only a limited number of examples had been realized, and the techniques and processes at the intersection of AI and architecture largely remained in laboratory settings. As individuals situated in the midst of a technological revolution, we are witnessing the recent widespread application of AI in numerous contexts, demonstrating its potential to positively shape our way of life through design.
