Semarang city is the one of the strategic areas located in the middle of the north coast of Java that has a tropical climate with the high humidity and temperature, so it often causes a high rainfall and strong wind. So that is way Semarang city is ever sustained the extreme weather like a Tropical Storm. Since January 2016 until 2017 there are 34 cases of Tornado and 24 incidents of fallen trees because of the gale. For helping the people to be allert the effect of the strong winds can be done by predicting the average of wind velocity by using Adaptive Neuro-Fuzzy Inference System (ANFIS) method which can predict the climate change that do not require the assumption of white noise and normal residual distribution. Pneumatic conveying ring dryers (PCRD) have been designed for drying sago starch. To facilitate the development of further designs, an accurate prediction model is required. The objective of this research is to develop a model of artificial neural network (ANN) to predict the efficiency of drying on the sago starch dryer of PCRD type. The ANN model consists of 12 input neurons, hidden layers, and 1 output neuron. Hidden layer variations are performed on the ANN model with network structure 12-5-5-1-1, 12-15-15-1-1, and 12-25-25-1-1. The learning algorithm uses a trainln type backpropagation with logsig activation function. The ANN model was trained and tested using 81 data sets (54 sets of training data and 27 sets of test data). The test results show that the comparison between the results of the prediction model of ANN with observation obtained r2 train value of 0.998, and r2 test in 0.916. This paper study the rainfall prediction at Semarang City as time series data with Feed Forward Neural Network (FFNN) model. The learning algorithm that be used are the Quasi Newton BFGS and Levenberg-Marquardt algorithm. The input unit is determined based on the best of ARIMA model. The computation is done with use Matlab 7.1 program with 1000 epoch, five unit of hidden layer, 100 replication and use input at lag variabel 1, 12 and 13, respectively. The result shows that the prediction is good in relatively, where Quasi Newton BFGS algorithm result the Mean Square Error (MSE) that more accurate.

Intensitas curah hujan dikatakan besar apabila hujan lebat dan kondisi ini sangat berbahaya karena dapat menimbulkan banjir dan longsor, untuk itu perlu dilakukan peramalan untuk memperkirakan seberapa besar curah hujan yang akan datang. Metode Jaringan Saraf Tiruan (JST) adalah paradigma pengolahan informasi yang terinspirasi oleh sistem saraf secara biologis, seperti pada proses informasi pada otak manusia. Metode JST yang digunakan dalam meramal curah hujan pada penelitian ini adalah metode Backpropagation dan Adaline. Hasil peramalan dengan tingkat kesalahan yang lebih kecil dari kedua metode JST tersebut akan menunjukkan bahwa metode tersebut baik digunakan untuk peramalan. Berdasarkan pengujian yang telah dilakukan pada iterasi 1000 dihasilkan RMSE dengan metode Backpropagation sebesar 0.0435, sedangkan Adaline sebesar 0.0674. Modeling and prediction of rainfall in 2010 in Central Java BMKG Climatological Station has been done with ARIMA approach. The goal is to determine the historical pattern of the data and then extrapolates this pattern into the future based on the assumption of continuity. Rainfall data of 2000-2009 is a time series that can be predicted into the future using ARIMA. In this study using two approaches for prediction of rainfall in 2010. The results were correlated with a prediction of rainfall data observed in 2010. Obtained a correlation of 71.1% and 75.48%.

Driver speed that exceeds the limit is one of many factors that trigger road accidents. This study aims to analyze the differences in driver perception in choosing the speed of the vehicle. This research was conducted in two cities with characteristics assumed to have different socio-cultural aspects, namely Semarang City representing the big city and Purwokerto City as the medium city. The study uses questionnaire data distributed to respondents of vehicle users and analyzed using quantitative descriptive methods. It is known that motorists or drivers in the two cities above have the same perception related to the reason for speeding, namely travel time and punctuality to the destination. However, there are differences in perceptions on the negative effect that underlie the decision making, namely self-actualization for the release of anger and praise. Tiga faktor yang menentukan karakteristik gelombang yang dibangkitkan oleh angin yaitu : (1) lama angin bertiup atau durasi angin, (2) kecepatan angin dan (3) fetch (jarak yang ditempuh oleh angin dari arah pembangkitan gelombang atau daerah pembangkitan gelombang) (Baharuddin et all, 2009). AbstractPneumatic conveying recirculate dryer (PCRD) is an artificial drying machine which is suitable for flour drying. Previous research has designed PCRD machine to dry the sago flour. The change of sago flour color in PCRD machine is very difficult to be directly measured during the drying process. The aim of this research was to develop an artificial neural network (ANN) model to predict the color difference (ΔE) between wet sago flour before drying and dried sago flour after drying by PCRD machine. The value of ΔE observation was obtained based on the sago color data calculation. The color of sago flour was measured using a color meter (TES 135A). The observation ΔE data were trained and tested on the ANN model using Graphical User Interface (GUI) application, a neuralnetwork- toolbox-based ANN on Matlab R2014a. Curah hujan yang dapat menjadi sumber bencana adalah curah hujan ekstrem, yaitu kondisi curah hujan yang cukup tinggi/rendah dari rata-rata kondisi normalnya. Informasi tentang peramalan curah hujan sangat berguna khususnya bagi pemerintah kota Surabaya dalam mengantisipasi kemungkinan kejadian-kejadian atau bencana yang diakibatkan oleh curah hujan ekstrem seperti, kekeringan, banjir, pohon tumbang, rusaknya fasilitas umum, dll.
