Abstract

The sociocultural and political processes emanated from the Post-Web 2.0 era, where it is complex to define the line between media producers and consumers, have been marked by the collapse of several paradigms, among them the loss of social credibility of the State and its institutions; media, political parties, and electoral organizations are not an exception. It is difficult to understand politics without media messages, especially because since the arrival of the internet, there are more and more interlocutors who put into question everything that does not fit with the canons of postmodern society. In that sense, this article inquires Mexican citizens’ trust in media, the role they play in the electoral processes and the relevance of media framing as part of the public opinion configuration.
