Teachers’ Teaching Creativity at Language Development Center of IAIN Padangsidimpuan

Teachers’ teaching creativity could facilitate effective learning and influence students’ learning motivation. It also creates the classroom not only just teaching, giving knowledge, and transferring information, but it also can give interest and extra experiences for students. The aim of this study was to investigate how teachers implemented their teaching creativity in EFL context. Then, this study was in a form of qualitative research applying descriptive method in analyzing the data. Five qualified English teachers at Language Development Center of State Institute for Islamic Studies Padangsidimpuan were purposively chosen as participants of the research. In addition, observation and interview were conducted to collect the data related to the implementation of teachers’ creativity in teaching English, and descriptive data analysis was used in analyzing them. Creativity in Foreign Language Teaching
The author deals with a topic quite often discussed by not only pedagogy and psychology. Creativity is present everywhere and the author suggests it should be a part of University education preparing pre-service teachers. Even though there are researches proving that creativity can be learnt and developed (to certain extent) it is still missing at our schools. Students and pupils still claim that they are asked to memorize the facts rather than to discuss their own opinions and perception. The study briefly presents part of the data gained in the research focused on using creativity at elementary and secondary schools. The interview with 22 teachers was done in 2 sessions (10 and 12 teachers to manage to administer the responses).

La creatividad y la innovación son fundamentales para que el docente encuentre nuevas formas de enseñar y aprender. Los lenguajes creativos ofrecen la oportunidad de explorar el lenguaje como un espacio de convivencia que posibilita la inclusión de los estudiantes con sus respectivos estilos de aprendizaje. En esta investigación se lleva a cabo un enfoque mixto, basado en un diseño descriptivo de tipo documental, que busca mostrar cómo los lenguajes creativos son una estrategia didáctica que permite la integración de estilos de aprendizaje de los estudiantes.

The article brings the idea how technology can be used to support motivation and challenge creativity in the groups of young learners.

This article deals with the level of using creative teaching methodologies in second language classroom as studied by the researcher. A series of qualitative methods such as using newspaper, media, movies, interpreting advertisements can be employed in the classroom in order to develop students' second language learning ability. The article focuses on how teaching methodologies should be modified and used in the classroom appropriately by understanding the learning capacity of students , their learning interest in the classroom and the use of creative teaching methodologies in the second language classroom .

Creativity and Language Learning Strategies: Toward a More Successful Language Learning
The present study aimed at investigating the relationship between EFL learners’ creativity and language learning strategies. For this purpose 140 EFL students, ranging between 19 and 32 years old, majoring in English Translation and English Literature at Islamic Azad University, at Central Tehran, Iran were randomly selected and given two questionnaires: The Strategy Inventory for Language Learning and Creativity Questionnaire. The results of Pearson correlation indicated that there are significant relationships between EFL learners’ total use of language learning strategies and their creativity. Also, running multiple regressions showed that social strategy predicted 79 percent of creativity scores. The affective strategy added up the percentage of prediction to 82.6 percent, and finally the metacognitive strategy entered the model on the last step and increased prediction to 93.2 percent. Conclusion and pedagogical implications are presented and discussed.
