The role played by hard animal tissues as a raw material in the manufacture of both tools, and ornaments within the Argaric and Late Bronze societies, remains still unknown in the current archaeological research. In this article we present both, the typological and technical approaches to the bone assemblage documented at the site of Cerro de la Encina (Monachil) during the archaeological campaigns carried out by the Department of Prehistory and Archaeology of the University of Granada during the decades of 1960 and 1970. This study has revealed changes in the methods and techniques used for osseous artifact manufacturing during the occupation of the site.
