This study aimed to analyze the knowledge level before and after socialization about COVID-19 and its prevention of students in Inpres Rimuku Elementary School, Mamuju Regency, and West Sulawesi. This study used the descriptive-analytic design using a questionnaire containing seven questions via a google form filled in two sessions, namely before and after educational socialization. During the second coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) surge, cases increased sharply due to low awareness and compliance with measures to limit disease spread. Health literacy (HL) is an important component of public health initiatives, and schools are potential sources of health education to increase HL via the presentation of COVID-19 educational modules. Methods: This cross-sectional study involved an online questionnaire administered to students from 5 high schools in Surabaya and Sidoarjo, Indonesia, 6-7 weeks after the start of government-issued directives restricting public gatherings. We collected data on each respondent's age, gender, parental education, and socioeconomic variables. HL was determined by the Health Literacy Measure for Adolescents. We additionally measured their attitudes and behaviors related to preventing the spread of COVID-19. The students were asked if they watched the COVID-19 module at school, their feelings about vaccination, and preferred online sources of COVID-19-related information. Results: Most of the 432 respondents had viewed COVID-19 modules at school. Module exposure was associated with significantly higher total and domain-specific HL and more positive attitudes toward government-issued COVID-19 restrictions on travel and public gatherings (p<0.05). However, behaviors to prevent COVID-19 spread and vaccine acceptance were not associated with module exposure. Most students chose social media as their source of COVID-19-related information. Conclusions: Schools can provide information to increase adolescents' HL and the public's support for health initiatives to prevent or limit the spread of COVID-19.

Background: Coronavirus (COVID-19) is a disease that was originally detected in China. It is becoming a global health problem with a progressive increase in cases and deaths around world. Schools present a potential hazard for spread of infection, especially droplet infections. Objective: The current study aimed to raise school staff and students awareness towards COVID-19 preventive measures by assessing their knowledge before and after health education program implementation. Methods: An interventional study was conducted among preparatory and secondary school students and teachers in Tanta during February and March 2020. The study included 1770 participants from 4 different schools. The data were collected using a self-administered questionnaire drawn by the researchers. Results: 81.2% of teachers significantly had a good total knowledge than the secondary and preparatory students (71.4% and 61.1%, respectively) after health education intervention. The attitude of secondary school students was positively affected compared to preparatory school students after health education intervention. Multiple regression analysis showed that age (0.00*) and gender (0.004*) differences were significantly associated with the level of knowledge. Conclusion and Recommendations: Health education intervention was effective among participants. Thus, it should be adopted by health personnel to transfer health-related information to the public. The findings of this study proved that educational health programs play a fundamental role in promoting the knowledge of students and staff members and positively directing their attitudes and practices towards prevention of infection.

The global condition of the Covid-19 pandemic brings a valuable message to the Indonesian people, especially the people of Banten. The rapid transmission in a short time drains the government's energy and thoughts, especially in the health sector to cope with the Covid-19 pandemic. Efforts to limit community activities, implementation of health protocols, and Covid-19 vaccination are the government's flagship programs for the community. On the other hand, the development of hoax news also worsens the condition of people's knowledge and attitudes in dealing with the Covid-19 pandemic. To support the implementation of the Covid-19 vaccination program, the Universitas Faletehan academic community is moving in synergy with the Serang District Health Office through collaboration with the Kramatwatu District and the Kramatwatu Health Center to carry out Health Education and administering the Covid-19 vaccine, one of which is in Kampung Gempol, Desa Pegadingan, Kramatwatu Serang, Banten with a target of 100 people, the target was 87 people, preceded by the provision of Health Education about the benefits of the Covid-19 vaccine in the hope that the public will gain knowledge and can influence other communities regarding the importance of the Covid-19 vaccine. Based on the indicators of knowledge measurement before and after Health Education was carried out, it was found that there was a difference in the average value before and after the achievement of changes in the maximum and minimum values, so it can be stated that the implementation of Health Education was very effective given to the community. So it is recommended to the Department of Health and related parties carry out this Health Education in a planned and scheduled manner for the wider community.
