Orientations to the Development of Vietnam’s Supporting Industries between 2015 and 2020

Inheriting extensive experience of foreign countries together with secondary data adopted in a qualitative research study, this paper addresses the orientations and solutions to the development of Vietnam's supporting industries (SIs) between 2015 and 2020. Apart from identifying barriers to and/or limitations of policies on their development, the findings pinpoint five SIs worthy of notice for mechanical appliances, plastics and rubber, electrical/electronic equipment, textile and garment, and leather and footwear. To drive these along their right track, priority should be given to consolidating the organization in support of SIs' development, cultivating support for premises and access to attractive markets, and transferring technological advancement that enhances competitiveness of firms in the field.

Vietnam?s economy: Achievements and perspective

In last several years, Vietnam's economy has reached significant achievements. Those are clearly seen by analyzing economic growth, economic structure transformation, trade and investment and Vietnam's economy competitiveness. However, in the process of development, Vietnam's economy is still facing many difficulties and challenges. Vietnam is accelerating speed of innovation process, is active and quicker in international economic integration in order to complete the economic-social objectives in the period of 2001-2005 with annual average economic growth rate of 7.5%.

This paper illustrates the weaknesses of Thailand’s manufacturing sector and industrial policies, industrial policies under Thaksin and following governments, and Yingluck’s vision 2020. This paper demonstrates some challenges encountered by Thai manufacturing encounters such as ASEAN Economic Community,the coming of Chinese, fierce global competition and the influences of TNCs, the shortage of skilled labor and physical infrastructure, natural disaster (the flood), industrial structure changes, and sound macroeconomic management. This paper underlines the need for Thailand to promote sustained, productivity-driven growth by enhancing investment in physical infrastructure and human capital, strengthening national innovation system, and other productivityenhancing policies to overcome the middle-income trap. This paper highlights the need for institutional reforms, capacity building of implementing administration, and political stability.

Manufacturing -Construction enterprises development in Thai Nguyen province, Vietnam

Manufacturing-Construction enterprises have played an important role in the success of development and growth of countries. Hence, Manufacturing-Construction enterprises development is very essential. The purpose of this study is to analyze Manufacturing-Construction enterprises development in Thai Nguyen province, Vietnam. Secondary data in the period between 2014 and 2017 was collected from Thai Nguyen statistics office. Data was analyzed with descriptive and inferential statistics. The results of the article have shown that the number of Manufacturing-Construction enterprises increased steadily in the period from 2014 to 2017 in Thai Nguyen province. The internal structure of the industry has shifted, but the speed is still slow when the turnover of metal and mining enterprises still accounts for a high proportion commensurate with the potential.
