Speaking is one of the crucial skills that should be mastered by the students. In learning speaking in a non-English speaking setting need to experience real communicative situations to express their own opinions and views, to develop their oral fluency and accuracy on speaking skill. Therefore, in real activities the lecturer in English education study program of Baturaja University often used various kinds of strategy and also kinds of teachinglearning activities in which the teacher/lecturer provide for the students' opportunities for the students to expose and the students speaking skill. The lecturers encourage the students to practice their English. This paper is concern about the students' perception on the implementation of task-based learning in improving the students' speaking skill. The sample of this research was taken from fourth semester of English education study program students of Baturaja University. This research adopted qualitative research. The data was collected by questionnaire, the result of the questionnaire analyzed by using percentage. Based on the result of questionnaire, most of the students give positive response on the implementation of task-based learning. The students strongly agree that task-based learning help them enjoy in learning English and they also mostly students agree that task based activities is a good way to improve English vocabulary.
