Adok drama-dance is a traditional dance from the Kanagarian Paninggahan. The dance is accompanied by musical instruments called drum Adok. Adok drama-dance tells the story of two kings in a competition for a bidodari. The contents of the story delivered through a motion supported by dendang which deliver certain messages. Adok drama-dance consists of five acts. The purpose of this research is to figure out the form and the aesthetics of Adok drama-dance as Minangkabau traditional drama-dance in Kanagarian Paninggahan, Solok district. The results of this research is that the Adok dance tells story and deliver specific messages. Adok dance is drama-dance without verbal dialogue that has obvious plot and characterizations. Then Adok dance is categorized as Minangkabau Traditional Ballet. Thus, this study is entitled the aesthetics of drama-dance Adok as dance Traditional in Kanagarian Paninggahan Solok Regency of West Sumatra.
