This research aims to improve student learning outcomes on mathematics learning by using a contextual approach. This research is a Class Action Research (CAR) conducted at one of the vocational schools (SMK) in X-class areas of focus on Automation of Governance and Office 3. The research instruments used in this study are (1) tests consisting of pre-test and post-test of the concept of Sigma notation and infinite series; and (2) the use of an observation sheet for teachers and students as a condition of measuring action execution. The procedure of the study consists of (1) planning, (2) The implementation of Action, (3) observation, (4) evaluation, and (5) reflection. The test results showed that there was an increase in pre-test and post-test results of 19.33%. Obviously, this shows that students ' learning outcomes on math learning are increasing after learning using a contextual approach.
ENHANCEMENT OF STUDENT LEARNING OUTCOMES THROUGH THE USE OF CONTEXTUAL TEACHING AND LEARNING
The purpose of this research is to enhance student learning outcomes through the use of contextual teaching and learning. The method of this research is the action research done in class outlined as Kemmis and McTaggart. This model is a dynamic process describing improvement in a spiral of steps composing of planning, acting, observing, and reflecting. The result shows that there was an increase of arithmetic mean test scores from 61.5 in cycle 1 to 67.2 in cycle 2 with t test= 2.114. Due to this result was still lower than the target, so the research was continued to the cycle 3. There were also learning gains from 67.2 in cycle 2 to 76.2 in cycle 3. This result is higher than the desired success target with t test= 3.267 showing that it is statistically significant at the 0.05 level. It can be concluded that student learning outcomes can be enhanced through the use of contextual teaching and learning. Application of contextual teaching and learning in teaching and learning process can give the opportunities for the students to express their ideas freely, have creative thinking, and use their knowledge comprehensively so that the student learning outcomes will be increasing.
Implementation of contextual approach as meaningful mathematics learning
Jurnal Inovasi Pembelajaran Matematika
This study aims to describe the implementation of meaningful mathematics learning with contextual approach and to know the student's response to meaningful mathematics learning. The subjects of this study are students of class VIII B SMP Negeri 7 Banjarmasin as many as 27 people and students of class VIII F SMP Negeri 24 Banjarmasin 2020/2021 lesson year as many as 30 people. Technique of collecting data with observation of learning implementation with contextual approach and questionnaire of student response to learning math meaningful with contextual approach, and documentation. Data analysis technique using percentage. The results show that the implementation of meaningful mathematics learning will take place as planned, containing seven components in a contextual approach, if the teacher is able to translate the essence of each step in a syntactic contextual approach with the media and learning resources. Student's response to the learning of mathematics is significant w...
Improving Student Achievement in Mathematics Using Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL) Modules
2017
The main purpose of this study is to investigate the relationship between the usage of contextual teaching and learning with students’ achievement in mathematical education. The study was conducted in Madrasah Ibtidayah Negeri (a private Islamic primary sc quantitative inquiry method was used in this study by applying a quasi The data on mathematics learning process and students’ achievements were gathered using questionnaires. Then, the data was anal regression analysis. achievements between students who learn using contextual teaching and learning (CTL) and those who learn usin higher than students who had been exposed to conventional method.
The Effectiveness of Mathematic Learning Materials Based on Contextual Teaching and Learning
Journal of Physics: Conference Series
Learning material is a medium of learning source which stimulates students to learn something new. This study aimed at analyzing the effectiveness of mathematics learning materials based on Contextual Teaching and Learning. The research was a comparative study with pretest posttest only design. The research conducted at SMP Negeri 2 Gondang, Bojonegoro, East Java, Indonesia,The effectiveness of mathematic learning materials based on contextual teaching and learning was analyzed by comparing students' achievement of mathematic. Data collected by mathematic test before and after implementing the learning materials. Data analyzed by using paired t test. The result of the study showed the score mean of pretest was 63.54, and score of posttest was 75.89. Paired t test of statistical test showed the significance level 0,000 < 0.05. It means that Mathematic learning Material based contextual teaching learning was effective to increase students' achievement.

This article is derived from the results of research entitled "Improving Students' Mathematical Understanding and Problem Solving Skills and Their Learning Interests in MTs through Contextual Teaching and Learning Learning (CTL)" which aims to see not only the influence of Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL) in increasing students' mathematical understanding and problems solving skills, but also to see their interests in learning mathematic as well. This research is a quasi-experiment study. The population in this study is all students of MTs Cianjur district. The sample in this research are 36 students of class VII A as experiment class and 36 students of class VII B as control class. The data in this study was analyzed using parametric and non parametric statistics. The results of this study indicate that students' mathematical understanding and problem solving skills, as well as their learning interests when using the approach of Contextual Teaching and L...

s. The objective of this research is to find: (1) increased learning motivation by applying the PBL method, and (2) increased learning outcomes by applying the PBL method. This research uses classroom action research with three cycles, each cycle consists of four phases: (1) planning; (2) action; (3) observe; and (4) reflecting. The research subjects were students of class XI TKR A totaling 26 students. Data collection techniques in research are: (2) self-assessment to measure student motivation; and (2) Tests to measure the learning outcomes. The data obtained is quantitative and processed into descriptive statistics. Data were analyzed descriptively. The research results are as follows: (1) learning motivation in the first cycle of 12.46 categorized as low, the second cycle of 14.72 categorized as high, and the third cycle of 16.76 categorized as very high, has increased by 2.26 from the first cycle to the second cycle and by 2.04 from the second cycle to the third cycle; and (2)...

This research is motivated by the condition of students in elementary schools studied, namely the low student learning outcomes and the lack of student activity in participating in learning. The results of observations made before the study showed that students could not apply the concept in solving everyday mathematical problems. Besides that, learning is often independent of reallife contexts. Based on the above, the researcher tried to apply the Contextual Teaching and Learning approach in angular learning. This research was carried out aimed at knowing the description of student learning activities and how student learning outcomes in learning the concept of angles through the Contextual Teaching and Learning approach. This classroom action research consists of three cycles. Each cycle consists of one learning action. Every action is carried out starting from planning, action, observation and interview, action analysis and reflection. The object of the study was students at 4th ...

The results of students' mathematics learning, especially in the one variable linear equation is still not yet as expected. The low result of learning are certainly caused by the learning process that held by the teacher which is less meaningful to the students. One of the efforts of teachers to help students achieve learning goals is through the implementation of learning with an approach that makes mathematic subject close to student life. One approach that can be applied to teachers in mathematics learning is contextual approach. Contextual approach is a learning approach that presents a mathematical problem in the form of real problems close to the life and experience of students. The purpose of this paper is to present the results of students' mathematics learning through the application of contextual approach. This research data is data about the results of students' mathematics learning after learning with contextual approach implemented. Data obtained through t...
